Surveys were conducted from August 2015 to January 2016 in three rice growing zones in Tamil Nadu: western zone, Cauvery Delta zone, and high rainfall zone. A total of 3,151 parasitc hymenoptera were collected, of which 1,349 were collected from high rainfall zone, 1,082 from western zone, and 720 from Cauvery Delta zone. Platygastridae, Ichneumonidae, and Braconidae were the most abundant families in all the three zones. The species diversity, richness, evenness as well as beta diversity were computed for all three zones via Simpson’s, Shannon-Wiener and Margalef indices. The results showed the high rainfall zone to be the most diverse and the Cauvery Delta zone the least diverse, but with more evenness. Pairwise comparison of zones using Jaccard’s index showed 75–79% species similarity. Keywords: Cauvery Delta, diversity indices, high rainfall, parasitoids. Introduction Over 30 species of insects from the family Zygaenidae (Lepidoptera) occur in Central Europe. The occurrence of sixteen of them was reported in Poland (D/^browski & Krzywicki , 1982; D/^browski, 1998). Most of these species are decidedly xerothermophilous, i.e. they inhabit dry, open and strongly insolated habitats. Among the species discussed in this paperZygaena (Zygaena) angelicae O chsenheimer, Z. Entomol. Fennica 29: 8696. Pseudogonalos hahnii is the only known species of Trigonalidae in Europe. It is a hyperparasitoid of lepidopteran larvae via ichneumonid primary parasitoids. Possibly, it has also been reared from a symphytan larva. We report the species for the first time from Estonia, Lithuania and Russian Fennoscandia, and list all known observations from Finland and Latvia. Two species, Synopeas bialowiezaensis BUHL, 2005 and Platygaster polonica Buhl & Jałoszyński, 2016a were described based on specimens known only from Poland, and Inostemma kaponeni BUHL, 2005 was described from Finland and Poland.

A lectotype female is designated for T. rusticus. Trichomalus campestris is newly recorded as a parasitoid of Ceutorhynchus cardariae Korotyaev.
