BALLROOM DANCING MADE EASY Ballroom Dancing Made Easy is a smooth and graceful that combines Greystone, Hand Dance and Cha-Cha-Cha all in one dance. Participants will gain an understanding of how each perform each dance, learn to dance with a partner, and hoe to lead or follow that partner. Show off your progress during a final showcase at the conclusion of the season! Register in-house or online today!

The dance is a partner dance where the leader and partner face and embrace one another. While you do not have to bring a partner, generally the male leads his partner in a series of steps or moves consisting of spins, turns and dips all the time maintaining the Cha-Cha-Cha beat to the music. Urban Ballroom also incorporates other , such as , , Rumba and steps.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR: Demond Carter is the Founder of Purple Steppers of Charlotte and is a Mas- ter instructor of Ballroom Made Easy and Chicago-Style Stepping. Over the past 14 years, Demond has focused on developing an international standard- ized curriculum for both styles of , while expanding the Social Dance culture throughout the nation.

Demond has hosted workshops and classes for the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System, Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, Presbyterian Hospi- tal, The North Carolina Museum of History, Charlotte City Council, University Park Baptist Church, Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Bank of America Gateway Festival, CIAA, Johnson C. Smith University, and Wachovia Bank, just to name a few. Demond Carter was also featured in a thirty minute segment with the PBS show "North Carolina Weekend." Demond has held workshops for the Virginia Beach Steppers in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Detroit 2 Cleveland in Cleveland, Ohio; Dance Connection in Pensacola, Florida, Chi- Steppers in Chicago, Illinois and Authentic Stepper in Manhattan, NY. Al- so,Demond Carter was recognized by the Charlotte City Council for his dedica- tion to the dance culture and the community by naming July 16th “Demond Carter Day” and July 17th “Purple Charlotte Steppers Day.”

Demond’s standardized curriculum is the foundation for instruction through- out the country. Demond is a regular guest at events throughout the nation on radio programs, TV shows and Internet broadcasts.
