In this building on a weekly basis, the professional community of Scotland (and increasingly our European and international friends), enter the studios to try new choreographic ideas or develop productions to the next crucial stage. It’s always an exciting time and we are very proud to continue to host these valuable residencies. Generally there are FREE company showings at the end of each residency and those are open to the public. That means you! Once a term, we also stage a larger-scale showcase on a Saturday evening. There’s a bar and our lovely theatre and it’s never been less than a fascinating night out. This term’s delights include Prime, Scotland’s first semi-professional elder dancers company, which was launched in February; Robbie Synge, who is one of our new dance makers creating a real stir throughout the UK and who is based in the Highlands; and Dance Ihayami, who are Scotland’s only Indian classical dance company. Plus, come and say hello to Beverley Grant, the fantastic recipient of the BBC Performing Arts Fellowship. We are also very lucky to also have Jo Fong from Wales who will be here with local dancer Skye Reynolds. These are only a selection of our residencies. Come and see what goes on and how rich and diverse our professional programme is from week to week. Pick up the professional programme for dates of open studio times and our summer showcase. Morag Deyes MBE Artistic Director THE LIFE OF PRIME Our new company of elder dancers has been launched and is now fully in action with great energy and enthusiasm.
