Pianist IVAN VIHOR KRSNIK ČOHAR made his debut with the orchestra at the age of 10, performing Bach's Concerto in F minor, BWV 1056 with the Sinfonica del Festival di Chioggia orchestra under the direction of Pietro Perini. Praised as a child prodigy and enviable virtuoso, he soon began performing at solo concerts and recitals. He was born in 1997 in Rijeka where he started his music education at the age of 6, in the class of prof. Ana Dražul. He graduated with the highest marks and after that, at the age of 16, enrolled in piano studies at the Conservatory of Gaetano Donizetti in Bergamo, Italy, in the class of prof. Marco Giovanetti, and graduated with the highest Cum Laude grades. He also completed his studies at Accademia di Musica Pinerolo, in the class of prof. Enrico Pace and at the Musicale Santa Cecilia Bergamo Academy with prof. Konstantin Bogina. He is finishing his master's degree in the class of prof. Marc Giovanetti at the Bergamo Conservatory. Since the spring of 2019, Ivan Vihor has been teaching as a professor at the Gaetano Donizetti Conservatory in Bergamo. He is currently studying a high master course at the Piano Academy Incontri col Maestro in Imola with Roberto Giordano and Enrico Pace. He trained with eminent pianists and music pedagogues, such as V. Ogarkov, S. Bogino, F. Casanova, I. Gamulin, E. Indjic, J. Schmidt, R. Dalibaltayan, P. Gililov and O. Marshev. He is a laureate of numerous national and international pianist competitions from which we can distinguish: Zlatko Grgosevic International Competition Zagreb, EPTA Piano Competition Osijek, National Competition in Dubrovnik, Etudes and Scales, Musica in Laguna Chioggia, Distant Chords, Lino Barbisotti, Premio Rotary Bergamo, Award Bruno Bettinelli, San Dona 'di Piave, etc. Ivan Vihor attracted the attention of the general public in 2017 at the age of 20, when he won the most prestigious Italian competition in Pesaro - Premio Delle Arti (as the only non-Italian ever). In the same year, he won the 6th Croatian Papandopulo Competition for Young Music Artists in Zagreb, as well as winning the first prize in both categories at the international competition Ferdo Livadić in Samobor. Maestro Zoran Juranic composed the work Spiritus ludens for Ivan Vihor as a prize, which he first performed at the Samobor Music Autumn 2018, with the Cantus Ensemble, under the direction of Berislav Šipuš. In 2018 he is the laureate of the Svetislav Stančić International Piano Competition in Zagreb, the Massarosa Piano Competition in Italy and the Lazar Berman International Piano Competition in Aversa, Italy. He has performed in Europe (Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Lichtenstein) and in North America. He has played at numerous music festivals, including the Spoleto Festival, Osor Music Evenings, Concerts du cloitre Nice, Samobor Music Autumn, Castello Visconteo Festival, Schumann Festival Societa dei concerti Milano, Scriabin Festival Societa dei concerti Milano, Onde musicali Lago D 'Iseo, Brescia e Bergamo Pianistico Festival, Monferrato Classic Festival, Advent Mimara Classic Fest Zagreb, Macugnaga Piano Festival, Shandelee Music Festival New York and more. He has collaborated with eminent conductors such as P. Perini, A. Ceccato, U. Lajovic, M. Tarbuk, B. Sipus. In 2015, he recorded a CD for MC Harmony, with works by Schumann, Beethoven and Liszt. Contradanza, published by Vox Primus with works by B. Papandopulo, J. S. Bach, C. Debussy and F. Liszt, is the second sound carrier to be released in 2020.
