AǖLjǖǔǕ DdžǗǐǕNJǐǏ: Catholic devotion gives itself to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in the month of August. This devotion is not offered toward some “idea” about Mary, but actually to her living, pumping heart serving as a symbol of her sinlessness and charity toward the world and sinners. Mary’s Immaculate Heart was constituted by the one who created her and who was born of her with a Sacred Heart, Jesus Christ. Thus, Mary’s Immaculate Heart is always joined to the heart of Jesus. Devotion to Mary’s Immaculate Heart came to the fore- front during the apparitions of Fatima in Portugal. Some Catholics consecrate their own hearts to Mary. In this way they are able to approach Jesus as Mary does and to spread a devotion to her while they themselves dedicate themselves to the conversion of others for Christ through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
