75 TAX ADVANTAGES Thank you Dear Friends,

We want to thank you for your trust and support. The best way to show our gratitude is to let those who are on the receiving end of your generosity speak for themselves. This Donor Report demonstrates the impact of your philanthropic gestures on the lives of those who benefit from them. The year 2019 was a turning point toward global awareness and openness to complexity. But for our University and for individuals like you, who share our values and objectives, sustainability, ethics and social responsibility have always been challenges to meet and for which to find answers and solutions. Bocconi has grown in 2019—in international standings, ranking fourth in Europe and sixteenth in the world in both Social Sciences and Management, which itself is ranked third globally; in the excellence of its research, recognized by the number of ERC grants awarded; in the city fabric, inaugurating the New Campus built on the former Centrale del Latte site; and in its relationship with the job market, with a 95.2% employment rate one year after graduation. Moreover, Bocconi has grown in its fundraising activity: thanks to the contributions of more than 1,300 donors who believed in our University and our initiatives, more than €12 million was raised in this exceptional year. These funds generated new opportunities for deserving students, with more than 120 need- and merit-based scholarships supported by donors. They have contributed to the dissemination of knowledge, with 4 new chairs and 2 endowed laboratories. They have also supported the construction of a lively and stimulating environment, with the promotion of sports activities and annual events and the naming of 6 new spaces. In light of the public health emergency we are experiencing, we are aware that the year ahead will be full of challenges. However, with you by our side, we are confident that we can actively contribute to the recovery and construction of a new future for the country and for society as a whole. Together we can go beyond. Beyond what is within our reach.

With our student support initiatives, we seek to reward merit, promote social mobility, guarantee gender equality and cultivate the development of innovative skills.

PATHWAYS TO SUPPORT

 CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR THOSE WHO NEED SUPPORT Through scholarships and waivers, we can open the University’s doors to all students who deserve access to quality education, ensuring that their socio-economic background is not an obstacle to developing their abilities and continuing their course of study. Among the initiatives focused on social mobility, we offer THE “UNA SCELTA POSSIBILE” PROGRAM, PARTIAL or FULL SCHOLARSHIPS and THE EMERGENCY FUND FOR TUITION

 PROMOTING MERIT AND GENDER EQUALITY Financial aid is a powerful tool to attract and retain the best Italian and international students at Bocconi, especially when it comes to gender equality. Offering these young people the opportunity to further refine their skills and acquire new knowledge in an intellectually lively and stimulating context means they will have the opportunity to put their talents into service for the community. Initiatives focused on merit and gender equality include: BOCCONI WOMEN’S SCHOLARSHIP and BOCCONI MERIT AWARDS

 ENCOURAGING SPECIALIZED AND INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS OF STUDY Financial support can be the deciding factor that allows many students to undertake highly specialized courses of study. Among our myriad initiatives focused on specialized paths are: MASTER’S DEGREE, MBA, and PHD SCHOLARSHIPS and SCHOLARSHIPS RESERVED FOR ADVANCED COURSES, such as CYBER RISK STRATEGY AND GOVERNANCE or LAW DEGREES

I believe in young people’s strength and during my meetings with them, I am always fascinated by the enthusiasm and creative energy they manage to instill. I know how important was for me to put a Bocconi scholarship to good use. Today I would like to give other young Albanians this same opportunity.

The organizers considered every detail: name badges, commemorative t-shirts, gifts Clara Morelli at the end of the evening, and covering the walls of the Beneficiary study area adjacent to the Bocconi Restaurant with souvenir photos. Knowledge and Responsibility INCREASING KNOWLEDGE FOR A BETTER SOCIETY

Constantly improving education, attracting the best teachers and researchers, internationalizing the Faculty and establishing new academic positions have always been critical goals for us at Bocconi. When we achieve them, the University’s prestige increases, and accordingly, its reputation, allowing us to make a responsible contribution to the society in which we live and operate, thanks to our global visibility. Now, we want to focus increasingly on research, in particular on new models for governance and institutions, on businesses and entrepreneurship, and on development and sustainability. PATHWAYS TO SUPPORT

 NAMED CHAIRS AND PROFESSORSHIPS Establishing a named chair or professorship is one of the most prestigious ways to associate your name with an academic position, supporting the teaching and research activity of a high- profile professor on strategic issues of common interest. The naming may be permanent or term. The gift of a permanent naming constitutes a capital asset and contributes to ensuring the University’s future and mission. A term naming covers the costs of the chosen professor for a minimum of 5 years, with the opportunity to renew the support.  NAMED CENTERS AND RESEARCH LABORATORIES Establishing a named research center or laboratory is a unique opportunity to give relevance and visibility to extremely topical research in areas of common interest between donor and university, actively contributing to the advancement of knowledge in a specific field. These facilities are coordinated by a high-profile professor and are characterized by an international and stimulating research environment, which attracts academic excellence. Moreover, in line with the Bocconi approach aimed at promoting the expansion of disciplinary areas and knowledge integration, Centers and Laboratories mix different skills within them and are characterized by their interdisciplinary approach.  RESEARCH INITIATIVES Contributions can support specific research activities or contribute to the recruitment of the best international researchers.

Accounting is a subject that touches all our professional specializations. It is in our DNA, and we are convinced that it will be increasingly important for the proper functioning of financial markets. Therefore, it seemed natural to us to create a permanent partnership with an international institution of excellence, such as Bocconi University. Our goal is two-fold: to promote research for high-impact analysis and true ‘thought leadership’ and to contribute to the training of new generations of professionals and managers, who are able to grasp the accounting implications of companies’ business models.

Thank you

Openness, challenge, rigor, sacrifice, gratification, learning, meeting, and opportunity: these and a thousand other words would not be enough to describe my experience as a student at Bocconi. In recent years I have had the good fortune to be able to “go beyond,” overcoming physical, geographical and mental limits that before crossing the threshold of Via Sarfatti 25, I was not aware that I had. In this uphill and constantly evolving path, obtaining a scholarship was a further push upwards, an injection of confidence by a donor who chose to believe in me, in my potential, and in my ambitions. Donor support enriches this path, allowing me to make the most of the infinite growth opportunities that Bocconi has to offer.
