SATURDAY 10 JANUARY ADELAIDE / AUCKLAND 1015 Adelaide delegates assemble and check in for Air New Zealand NZ 792 1145 Depart Adelaide. Lunch will be served in flight. 1825 Arrive in Auckland and clear Customs and Immigration... Take Shuttle Bus to hotel. 1900 Dinner: Accommodation: Copthorne Auckland City Hotel 150 Anzac Avenue Auckland Phone: +64 9 379 8509 Adults, 1 night, share twin Dinner, bed and breakfast basis PERTH / AUCKLAND (Overnight Flight) 1620 Perth delegates assemble and check in for Air New Zealand NZ 176 1750 Depart. Be met and join others for Breakfast in Copthorne Auckland City Hotel before commencing trip to Rotorua later in the day. 0700 Arrive at Copthorne Auckland City Hotel. (See Sunday) SUNDAY 11 JANUARY AUCKLAND / ROTORUA 0800 Perth and Adelaide Delegates will join each other at Copthorne Auckland City Hotel for breakfast. Perth Delegates will have shower arrangements organised for them. 0930 Commence an Auckland City Sightseeing tour and join the Rotorua Transfer pool to Rotorua later in the day. Lunch will be served 1435 Arrive in Auckland and clear Customs and Immigration. Be met by Group Events and Oceania Coachlines and board coach for transfer to Rotorua. 1015 Melbourne Delegates check in for Air New Zealand flight NZ12 4 1145 Depart. Breakfast will be served in flight. 1715 Arrive in Auckland and clear Customs and Immigration. Be met by Group Events and Oceania Coachlines and board coach for transfer to Rotorua. 0650 Brisbane Delegates check in for Air New Zealand flight NZ732 0830 Depart. Breakfast will be served in flight. 1440 Arrive in Auckland and clear Customs and Immigration. Yes it has a computer pocket and 2 drink bottle holders. Trade displays are open. 0900 Conference Commences. Powhiri.... Official Maori Welcome to Rotorua. 0910 Welcome speeches and scene setting... 4 Guest speakers TBA 1100 / 1130 Morning Tea Partners leave Meeting and commence Partner Program. Mt Maunganui and Tauranga Excursion: 1135 Board your coach and travel east past the lakes district and to the East Coast of the Bay of Plenty. First stop will be Mt Maunganui, New Zealand’s Surfers Paradise. It is a fine marine Centre and is also New Zealand’s Largest Tonnage Port. Its main export product is from the forestry and kiwifruit industry. We will stop in the town centre and suggest apart from shopping you may like to buy lunch here. (Own cost) 1400 Reboard your coach and travel across the causeway to the retirement city of Tauranga. We will stop in the centre of the city and you can spend time on the Esplanade a great cafe and restaurant area or in Spring Street and Devonport Road the main shopping area. P a g e | 6 1530 Reboard your Coach and travel via Gate Pa back to Rotorua. 1630 Arrive back at your hotel. 1830 Shuttle coaches depart your hotel for Agroventures and a Country Carnival. Enjoy lots of fun and a Spit Roast Dinner. (Bar available Own Cost). There will be a lot of happy ‘gidday’s’ here and lots of what we call Study Rewards before your conference gets started. Here you will have the choice to ride; The Agrojet an exciting mini Jetboat, The Swoop, a 60ft awesome swing, Shweeb on an aerial Cycle that Google has paid $1.25 million to buy the world transport rights to develop as an alternative transport system. Alternatively test your ability to Freefall Xtreme an opportunity to experience aerial style free-fall. There will be good ‘Kiwi Tucker’ and a range of drinks (own cost) and you will be out in New Zealand’s Great Outdoors. Agroventures is Qualmark endorsed and this is a very popular student venue. The Qualmark makes this a safe fun spot where the Risk Management features are checked regularly by Qualmark a Government agency. 2030 / 2130 Shuttles will return you to your hotels. TUESDAY 13 JANUARY ROTORUA 0730/ 0815 Breakfast 0830 Quack Around Town with Rotorua Duck: You will be collected by The Rotorua Duck and will be taken on an Amphibian DKW City and Lakes tour. P a g e | 7 The Agrodome and farm tour: A Qualmark endorsed visitor Attraction 1045 Arrive at the Agrodome. Here you will see a unique farm with an exhibition of sheep breeds, some shearing and information on wool classification and production. See lambs fed, they are bred here monthly; see a dairy cow milked and the huntaway and eye dog working. Take part in a real live sheep auction, if you are top bidder they will help you get a sheep home. You will learn about New Zealand farming lifestyles. 1100 Showtime 1210 See the dog trials. Board your tractor and trailer and be taken on a tour of the 160-hectare working farm. This tour includes interaction with 1200 Romney sheep, beef cattle, red and fallow deer, alpacas, ostrich, emus and more exotic farm animals. Feeding, touching and photographing is encouraged. Stops are made at the beehive for honey tasting, and the kiwifruit orchard. This is a ‘real down on the farm’ hands-on tour. Finish your tour at the Woollen Mill. Lunch: Have lunch here in the farm cottage (Own Cost). 1330 Board your coach and travel to Rotorua Museum. Rotorua Bathhouse Museum: A Qualmark Endorsed Visitor activity At Rotorua Museum you will gain a good understanding of the region’s rich culture, volatile landscape and dramatic history brought to life through a variety of multi-media exhibitions, innovative displays, art exhibitions and cinema experiences. Through an informative guided tour will learn about the amazing stories of this unique region. Located in the iconic Bath House heritage building, you can explore the Museum from basement to rooftop, and see firsthand the immense caldera in which the city of Rotorua is situated. You will have a discount Voucher should you wish to buy any souvenirs here. 1530 Whakarewarewa Thermal Village (A Qualmark endorsed visitor activity) Stroll through the Thermal Reserve where there are boiling mud pools and view the active geysers, including the world famous Pohutu Gesyer play. Learn the culture of the Maori people and see them preserving the ancient crafts which have been passed down through the generations. The people (iwi) are all descendants of Tuhourangi-Ngati-Waihiao. They will share with you their knowledge and history as handed down through the generations. The guides will take you on an educational journey through time covering the 200 year history of living within the uniqueness of this geothermal area. Learning opportunities: Many of the main features of this living village will be explored throughout the interactive tour. You will learn how people adapted their lifestyle to accommodate and utilise the unique natural resources of this volatile environment. You will gain an understanding how the local people manage the environment to cook, clean, heat their houses and use the medicinal value of this geothermal environment. You will explore the inter-relationships between culture and tourism. All this is in a unique environment. During the tour you will take part in cooking sausages in natural steam vents. At the end of their tour you will be able to enjoy your steamed sausages for lunch with a piece of bread and lashings of tomato sauce, a great kiwi tradition. Plus you will have corn cooked the Maori way. 1700 Board your return Transfer to your hotel.
