Overall Description In the basement of the Helen Gordon Child Development Center (HGCDC), the elevator lobby L007 is located in the northwest corner of the basement. Elevator lobby L007 is bordered on the east by stairwell S005 with access to all floors, bordered on the south by elevator E058, and bordered on the west by corridor C002 with access to mechanical and storage rooms 008, 009, and 010 and corridor C001.

Corridor C002 is an L-shaped corridor. The north leg of corridor C002 is bordered on the east at the north end by elevator lobby L007 and immediately south of the lobby by mechanical closet 010 and elevator equipment room 009, and at the south end by the east leg of corridor C002. The east leg of corridor C002 is bordered on the north by storage room 008, on the east by corridor C001, and on the west by the north leg of corridor C002.

Corridor C001 is bordered on the north at the west end by room 007, toward the east end by stairwell S002 with access to all floors, and at the east end by room 002, bordered on the east by mechanical room 003, bordered on the south with doors at each end of the corridor by storage room 006 with access to rooms 004 and 005, and bordered on the west by corridor C002 with access to mechanical and storage rooms 008, 009, and 010 and elevator lobby L007.

Restrooms The basement does not have public restrooms. Restrooms can be found on Floor 1.

Wheelchair Accessible Entrances and Exits Wheelchair access to the basement of Helen Gordon can be made via the elevator E058. This elevator emerges from the south wall of elevator lobby L007, facing north. This elevator provides access to all floors.

Stairs Stairwell S002 is located to the north of corridor C001. This stairwell provides access to all floors. Stairwell S005 is located to the east of elevator lobby L007. This stairwell provides access to all floors.

First Floor 2 of 5

Overall Description On Floor 1 of Helen Gordon, the only fully ADA accessible entrance is located near the center of the north facade. This wheelchair accessible entrance provides access to the main common room 120. This interstitial space mediates the east and west wings of the building. Room 120 is bordered on the north by the main accessible entrance from Market Street, bordered on the east by corridor C103 with access to the main lobby L101 and stairwell S102, bordered on the south by the exit to the playgrounds, and bordered on the west by corridor C106 with access to classrooms 130, 140, and 150, rooms 142, 143, 144, and 160, stairwell S106, and elevator lobby L107.

The main lobby L101 is bordered on the north toward the west by corridor C104 with access to a secondary building entrance and rooms 107 and 110, toward the middle by stairwell S101 with access to floors 1 and 2, and toward the east by vestibule V102 with access to suite 101. Lobby L101 is bordered on the east toward the north by the main office 102 and toward the south by vestibule V101 with access to the original building entrance on 12th Avenue. Lobby L101 is bordered on the south toward the east by suite 103, toward the west by suite 104, and to the far west end by corridor L102 with access to room 105 and kitchen 106. Lobby L101 is bordered on the west by corridor C103 with access to common room 120 and stairwell S102.

Corridor C106 is bordered on the north toward the west by a short corridor to rooms 144 and 160 and by room 143, near the center by room 142, and toward the east by elevator lobby L107 with access to elevator E158, stairwell S105, and single-occupancy restrooms 131 and 132. Corridor C106 is bordered on the east toward the north by room 133 and toward the south by common room 120. Corridor C106 is bordered on the south toward the east by classroom 130, near the center by classroom 140, and toward the west by classroom 150. Corridor C106 is bordered on the west by stairwell S106 with access to floors 1 through 3.

Elevator lobby L107 is bordered on the east by stairwell S105 with access to all floors, bordered on the south toward the east by elevator E158 and toward the west by corridor C106 with access to classrooms 130, 140, and 150, rooms 142, 143, 144, and 160, stairwell S106, and common room 120, and bordered on the west by single-occupancy restrooms 131 and 132.

Restrooms On Floor 1 of Helen Gordon, restrooms 131 and 132 are located to the west of the elevator lobby L107. These restrooms are both single-occupancy, all-gender restrooms.

Wheelchair Accessible Entrances and Exits On Floor 1 of Helen Gordon, wheelchair entry into the building can ONLY be made via the entrance near the center of the north, Market Street, facade. Wheelchair users first enter common room 120. For access to lower or higher floors, the elevator E158 is located in the elevator lobby L107 west from common room 120 and north from corridor C106.

Elevators On Floor 1 of Helen Gordon, the elevator E158 is located in the south of the elevator lobby L107, in the northeast corner of the west wing. This elevator provides access to all floors.

Stairs Stairwell S101 is located near the center of the north wall of the main lobby L101. This stairwell provides access to floors 1 and 2. Stairwell S102 is located to the north of corridor C103. This stairwell provides access to all floors. Stairwell S104 is located outside to the south of suite 104. This stairwell is intended to provide emergency egress ONLY from the second floor classrooms 202, 203, 204, 205, and 206. Stairwell S106 is located to the west of corridor C106, near the center of the west, 13th Avenue, facade. This stairwell provides access to floors 1 through 3. Stairwell S107 is located outside to the south of classroom 140. This stairwell is intended to provide emergency egress ONLY from second floor classrooms 230, 240, and 250.

Overall Description On Floor 2 of Helen Gordon, the elevator lobby L207 is located in the northeast corner of the west wing. Lobby L207 is bordered on the east by stairwell S205 with access to all floors, bordered on the south toward the east by elevator E258 and toward the west by corridor C204, and bordered on the west by single-occupancy restrooms 231 and 232.

Corridor C204 is bordered on the north toward the west by a small corridor to rooms 244 and 260 and by room 243, near the middle by room 242, and toward the east by elevator lobby L207. Corridor C204 is bordered on the east by common room 220 with access to common room 218 in the east wing. Corridor C204 is bordered on the south near the middle by vestibule 240A with access to classrooms 230, 240, and 250. Corridor C204 is bordered on the west by stairwell S206 with access to floors 1 through 3.

Common room 220 is bordered on the east by common room 218 and on the west by corridor C204. Common room 218 is bordered on the east by corridor C202 with access to corridor C201 and on the west by common room 220.

Corridor C201 is bordered on the north at the west end by corridor C202, toward the west by room 209, near the middle by stairwell S201 with access to floors 1 and 2, and at the east end by suite 201. Corridor C201 is bordered on the south to the east end by classroom 202, near the middle by classroom 203 and stairwell S203 with access to floors 2 and 3, and at the west end by classroom 204 with access to classrooms 205 and 206. Corridor C201 is bordered on the west by stairwell S202 with access to all floors.

Restrooms On Floor of Helen Gordon, restrooms 231 and 232 are located to the west of the elevator lobby L207. These restrooms are both single-occupancy, all-gender restrooms.

Wheelchair Accessible Entrances and Exits On Floor 2 of Helen Gordon, wheelchair entry is made via the elevator E258, which emerges in the elevator lobby L207 in the northeast corner of the west wing. NOTE: Wheelchair access to the second floor east wing requires circulation through common rooms 220 and 218 and corridor C202 to corridor C201.

Elevators On Floor 2 of Helen Gordon, the elevator E258 is located in the south of the elevator lobby L207, in the northeast corner of the west wing. This elevator provides access to all floors.

Stairs Stairwell S201 is located near the center of the north wall of corridor C201. This stairwell provides access to floors 1 and 2. Stairwell S202 is located to the west of corridor C201. This stairwell provides access to all floors. Stairwell S203 is located near the center of the south wall of corridor C201. This stairwell provides access to floors 2 and 3. Stairwell S104 is located outside to the south of classroom 203. This stairwell is intended to provide emergency egress ONLY from the second floor classrooms 202, 203, 204, 205, and 206. Stairwell S206 is located to the west of corridor C204. This stairwell provides access to floors 1 through 3. Stairwell S107 is located outside to the south of classroom 240. This stairwell is intended to provide emergency egress ONLY from second floor classrooms 230, 240, and 250.

Overall Description On Floor 3 of Helen Gordon, the elevator lobby L307 is located in the northeast corner of the west wing. Lobby L307 is bordered on the east by stairwell S305 with access to all floors, bordered on the south toward the east by elevator E358 and toward the west by corridor C304, and bordered on the west by single-occupancy restrooms 231 and 232.

Corridor C304 is bordered on the north by elevator lobby L307, on the east by the roof deck with outside access to the east wing, and on the west by room 350.

The roof deck is bordered on the east toward the south by room 311 with access to corridor C301 and on the west toward the north by corridor C304.

Corridor C301 is bordered on the north toward the west by stairwell S302 with access to all floors and moving toward the east by rooms 304, 305, and 306. Corridor C301 is bordered on the east by stairwell S303 with access to floors 2 and 3. Corridor C301 is bordered on the southeast corner by corridor C302 with access to rooms 307 and 313. Corridor C301 is bordered on the south by rooms 308, 309, 310, and, at the west end, 311. Corridor C301 is bordered on the west by single-occupancy restroom 312.

Restrooms On Floor 3 of Helen Gordon, restrooms 331 and 332 are located to the west of the elevator lobby L307. These restrooms are both single-occupancy, all-gender restrooms. An additional single-occupancy restroom 312 is located at the west end of corridor C301 in the third floor east wing.

Wheelchair Accessible Entrances and Exits On Floor 3 of Helen Gordon, wheelchair entry is made via the elevator E358, which emerges in the elevator lobby L307 in the northeast corner of the west wing. NOTE: Wheelchair access to the third floor east wing requires transit through the outdoor roof deck and room 311 to corridor C301. Assistance may be required.
