STORM SHELTER REGISTRY The City of Graham Storm Shelter Registry is a program initiated by the City of Graham Emergency Management, Graham Fire Rescue, and the Young County Sheriff’s Department. The purpose of the Storm Shelter Registry is to provide a database of storm shelter locations in and around Graham to assist emergency agencies in providing aid to victims of severe weather. The registry will be a valuable tool for emergency agencies in locating and assisting residents that may have been trapped in their storm shelters by tornado debris. The registry consists of a list of storm shelters and valuable information for each shelter such as contact information, shelter address, shelter type, and where on the property the shelter is located. The Graham Emergency Management department will maintain the database and the shelter addresses will be used to map all storm shelter locations. In the event of a natural disaster, address lists and address maps of affected areas can be distributed to emergency responders so that those in need of assistance can be quickly located. HOW TO PARTICIPATE We encourage anyone with a safe room or storm shelter to register by dropping this form off at City Hall (429 Fourth Street Graham, TX 76450) or use the online registration form at cityofgrahamtexas.com click on City Government go to Emergency Management to submit your shelter information. Please be prepared to provide a name (optional), phone number, email, shelter address, shelter location (i.e. back yard, front yard, garage, etc...), and shelter type (safe room, in-ground, basement). You can register a safe room, storm cellar, in-ground storm shelters, or basements. PRIVACY Your storm shelter information will not be shared or distributed for any reason other than to aid City of Graham and Young County emergency responders. SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL BASEMENT FINISH A building permit is required anytime there is an addition, alteration, repair or demolition to the main structure or accessory structure on a lot or parcel. Type, size, R-value of insulation in walls and ceiling. 10. Fireplace or stove location, type and installation details. 11. Show location and size of exhaust fans and combustion, conditioned and return air ducts. Once the plans have been submitted, the documents will be reviewed to determine if the project is in compliance with building safety codes, zoning ordinances and other applicable laws.

www.spinscreed.com Techniques for pouring a basement floor using the Spin Screed: In my own construction business, I have used the Spin Screed on countless basement floors in order to produce a floor that is flatter than any other screeding operations that I have tested. The floor is flatter and we are able to pour it faster with less manpower and less work than other methods. Below is a description of the method that I use to pour a basement floor using a total of four men: two rakers, a dead end man, and a live end man. Figure 1: Rope-Quick North Coupling Adapter 60 ft. The basement must comply with minimum standards for building code compliance. It must also comply with Board of Health regulations. The following are requirements for a typical basement project, there could be other regulations which are not addressed or are specific to your project which might apply. The greater the detail that is on the plans, the easier it will be to help you comply with applicable regulations. Recreation rooms and habitable rooms require glazing not less than 8% of the floor area. One-half of the required area of glazing shall be operable. Artificial lighting (standard electrical lighting) and mechanical ventilation (system to provide fresh air into space which doesn’t differentiate more than 10 degrees from the conditioned space) can be used to meet this requirement. Energy conservation regulations require insulation for heated or cooled spaces. Minimum finish ceiling height for a habitable space in a basement is 7 feet, storage areas are exempt. Habitable basements must have an emergency escape and rescue opening. Rooms that contain fuel burning appliances (furnaces) must supply sufficient combustion air to appliances. If room is not large enough vents can be added in walls to supplement. If combination of spaces is not enough, outside air will be required. Applications can be obtained at the Building Department. Abraham Lincoln was born February 12, 1809 in a small, one-room cabin in Kentucky to Thomas and Nancy Lincoln. Neither of his parents were educated, so when Abe eventually went to school to learn to read and write, his parents must have been very proud of him. But he wasn't in school for long. When Abe was 7 years old, his family moved to Indiana. Thomas Lincoln was opposed to slavery, which at that time was legal in Kentucky, and that was one reason he decided to move the family to Indiana where slavery was not allowed. There was no school near their new home. About a year later, his mother died and soon afterwards his father married again. Eventually there were enough pioneers in their area that a school and church were built, and Abe and his sister were able to once again attend school. Abe grew to be a tall young man and read everything he could get his hands on. He would walk for miles to borrow a book from someone. Abe Lincoln only had about 18 months of formal school--everything else he learned on his own by reading. As he approached adulthood, he began to read law books and listened to men talk about politics. He grew very tall and became known for his honesty.
