Congratulations also to Harry Condon on achieving his bronze medallion this season. To our young adult team members, your involvement and participation was been also thankfully received. Special mention goes to Joel and Haley for their regular attendance and assistance on patrol and Jett Van Der Wallen who still found time between his uni studies and competition training to make it to most of our patrols this season.

This was the longest board and ski season poor old Uncle Nick can recall. It began in, oh I dunno, May 2015? when a couple of our racing crew decided to take on the Molokai board race, and finally ended in May 2016, when the Carroll and Kings Cup races were held — a week AFTER the actual SLSC season had ended. In between came some extraordinary efforts in training, coaching, and somehow accommodating our ever-increasing pool of board paddlers and surf skiers. We managed to increase our storage space by a small increment, such that we can now store 48 skis and 52 boards on-site at the club, but our happy problem — a club in the midst of a population explosion — means we’re always looking for more.
