Notice of Race 52th 12Ft Skiff Interdominions 2012 18Ft Skiff Mark Foy Regatta
1. Date:
The regatta will be conducted from Friday 30th December 2011 to Saturday 7th January 2012.
Organizing Authority: The Auckland Sailing Club (ASC).
Venue: The Landing, Okahu Bay, Auckland, New Zealand.
2. Rules
The regatta shall be governed by the current rules as defined in the RRS 2009-2012, the prescriptions of the NZYF and by the Sailing Instructions.
3. Eligibility and Entry
The regatta is open to all 12ft and 18ft Skiffs. Eligible boats may enter the regatta by completing the official entry form available from the ASC prior to racing commencing.
Entries will be accepted during registration times listed below.
A fee of NZ$300 must accompany all 12ft Skiff entries. A fee of NZ$450 must accompany all 18ft Skiff entries.
4. Schedule of Races
Welcome and registration Thursday 29th December 17:00hrs Invitation Race Friday 30th December 01:00hrs 10 Races will be scheduled from Saturday 31st December to Saturday 7th January. There will be two laydays scheduled. Presentation Saturday 7th January
5. Measurement
Random measurement checks may be carried out at any time during the regatta at the discretion of the race committee.
6. Sailing instructions
The sailing instructions will be available at Auckland Sailing Club from Thursday 29th January and will be handed out with acceptance of entry.
7. Racing Area
The racing area will be on Auckland Harbour. The courses will be described in the sailing instructions and may include both laid windward leeward courses and harbour courses.
9. Scoring
The low points scoring system of appendix A apply.
Five races are required to constitute a series.
When fewer than six races have been completed, a skiff’s score will be the total of her race scores.
Where six or more races have been completed, a skiff’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
Where eight or more races have been completed, a skiff’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores.
9. Prizes
To be advised at time of registration.
10. Penalty System
Rule 44.2 is changed so that the two-penalty turns is replaced with one-turn penalty
11. Disclaimer
It is the competitor’s decision to enter the event or start and continue in any race. Competitors shall accept that their participation in an event is at their exclusive risk in every respect. See rule 4, decision to race.
The organizing authority and affiliates, their officers, members, employees and agents accept no responsibility in respect to loss of life, personal injury or loss or damage to property which may be sustained by reasons of their participation in this event or however arising in connection with the event.
