Title: Apocalypse Cow 27 Apr Bart joins a young farmers' group for the summer and raises a cow he calls Lou, helped by local girl Mary. Appalled when he finds out that Lou is destined for the slaughter house, Bart, helped by Lisa, rescues him and takes him to Mary to look after. But Mary is the daughter of Cletus and Brandine and in yokel law the gift of a cow equals a marriage proposal. If Bart backs out Lou will die. Fortunately Marge comes up with a plan to save face and Lou but it's a close call for Homer in the pantomime cow outfit as he takes Lou's place on the way to the killing floor. Written by don minifie Bart gets a cow, and nearly married in this fun episode of the show from its 19th series, that happily is a marked improvement from the previous show. There are some great lines along the way here, with some classic 'Homer-isms'. It was also nice to see Apocalypse Cow softer side to Bart too. An extra point is given to it by me personally for the 'Pirates 3' joke, which I thought was great. Looking for some great streaming picks? Apocalypse Cow Britain begins a rapid descent into chaos and ministers cynically attempt to blame al-Qaeda, Lesley stumbles upon proof that the government is Apocalypse Cow the outbreak. During her Apocalypse Cow quest to unveil the truth, she crosses paths with Terry and Geldof, and together they set out to escape a quarantined Britain with the evidence and vital data that could unlock a cure for the virus. Standing in the way are rampaging hordes of animals, a ruthless security agent and an army ready to shoot anybody with a case of the sniffles on the off-chance the virus has mutated. Three losers. Overwhelming odds. A single outcome: the world is screwed. The beef and pork? Awwww, crap! Hang on to your britches, folks, this book was moo-stly fun and udder madness! This is going to be one of those books that you either love Apocalypse Cow hate. I absolutely loved it. I did everything from snicker to guffaw, to choke on my food while I was reading. Had Terry met him under different circumstances,he would have assumed he was a banker. Basically, the government screws up, and this virus gets released. The food chain gets fried. The characters are disturbingly believable, though the representation of the vegan might offend other vegans. I was surprised to find that I actually ended up caring about Geldof, the youngest of the Apocalypse Cow, and even Lesley and Terry. The rest of them were take or leave primarily because they were bull-headed toe-rags. Plus, I mean, if you take nothing Apocalypse Cow away from this book, you will always remember the horny zombie cows. She does book Apocalypse Cow film reviews for both genres the site focuses on. Her tastes run towards creature features, hard science fiction, and lots and lots of action. She also has a soft spot for middle-grade fiction that rears its head frequently. Though Apocalypse Cow longer involved with Ladies of Horror Fiction due to other responsibilities and a too-full plate, she was one of the original 4 co-founders. I consider it a Moos t Buy. Lilyn G. I loved the first book Apocalypse Cow this series with reservations. In the second book the reservations are gone. If I've bought into a wry cynicism, I don't want it to suddenly become slapstick. In World War Moo Logan maintains consistency. It's a sharp, comedy horror that mixes genu I loved the first book in this series with Apocalypse Cow. It's a sharp, comedy horror that mixes genuine pathos with the laughs and actually circles around a set of surprisingly deep moral questions. The only bum notes in the consistency stakes Apocalypse Cow the Apocalypse Cow generals we Apocalypse Cow flit to, and the 'deportation' of a key character. Despite the title the emphasis moves from the 'zombie' animals of book one to the human 'zombie' population, and has less focus on running and killing or dying with more Apocalypse Cow. There still is plenty of messy destruction though - fear not! The writing reminds me a fair bit of Tom Sharpe on form. I 'worry' that a non-British reader might flounder here. I'm guessing that very few Americans know who Noel Edmunds is, for Apocalypse Cow. It's hard to be funny and tell a compelling tale at the same time. Logan manages it. This second book improves on an already enjoyable book 1, making the pair of them well worth your Apocalypse Cow. Join my 3-emails-a-year newsletter prizes View all 3 comments. If I haven't removed the rating by the Apocalypse Cow you read this, either I have yet to sober up or I was so drunk that I forgot I encountered a sudden burst of red wine-induced confidence and gave myself a five-starry slap on the back. Either way, Apocalypse Cow, don't base your buying decision on my rating. Same thing. This, obviously, is the sequel to Apocalypse Cow. It is a slightly more serious, and less graphically violent, book - with wider themes around family, responsibility and governance. Apocalypse Cow still find plenty of daftness to keep continuity with Apocalypse Cow, however. Be warned, though: this is not a zombie book as such. Humans now have the virus, but they are perfectly sentient, if a little more grumpy and horny, most of the time. In the company of the uninfected, however, they do tend to lose the plot. In terms of characters from the first book, it features Geldof Peters, who is maturing i. There is also a surprise, soap-opera-style Apocalypse Cow, for a favourite character of mine. Regarding the Apocalypse Cow important question, though: yes, there are still 'zombie' cows and squirrels. There's even a 'zombie' seal. The blurb and cover will come as we approach publication. World War Moo, the sequel to the outstanding Apocalypse Cowcontinues the story of bloodthirsty zombie cows running rampant in England. The oddball characters and survivors from the first book are called back into action to prevent a world-wide outbreak of Apocalypse Cow virus because of the actions inept government officials and their desire for personal glory and looking out for themselves. This is definitely not your normal Apocalypse Cow book. Apocalypse Cow brings several of the old characters back a few surprises, tooalong with a newly-developed characters that become vital to the storyline. Of course, the zombie cows and squirrels return in all their udder and nutty glory. Oh, and make sure you're up to speed on Apocalypse Cow Star Wars and Star Trek references. View 1 comment. Jan 31, Marc-Antoine rated it it was amazing. I am surprised with how the author has taken a ridiculous premise and surrounded with a well crafted story, characters you care about and delved into important existential questions such as our humanity. Humorous, but still thought provoking, congratulations to the Apocalypse Cow, well done! Feb 22, Paul rated it really liked it. A fun read. Its taken a few years but the follow Apocalypse Cow finally made its way out. Like its predecessor the book contains a certain amount of absurdity, the Noel Edmunds look alikes, a Benny Hill style chaseand a leader basing his decisions and actiond on his favourite TV Apocalypse Cow. Most work, some don't but overall I laughed. Behind all that its actually a decent story. It falls somewhere into the bal A fun read. It falls somewhere into the ballpark of recent fiction looking at zombies even if itc pointed out they are not really zombies in the propee Apocalypse Cow from there side as well. The nature of humanity and violence is questioned and throughout you realise the obvious threat might not be the worst one.
