Time Travellers from Year 2255- in Tallinn, Estonia Time Travellers from year 2255- in Tallinn, Estonia Charactres: Kaspar, Estonia Mia, Germany Lea, Finland(the fyling penguin) Rolv, Denmark Kalev, Estonia(chemist) Estonia- Past (They land on the Town Hall square, get out of the time machine. The children are confused.) Rolv: You what mate? Where are we???? Kaspar: We are in Estonia, my homeland. Lea: To be exact, we are in The Old town of Tallinn. The origins of Tallinn date back to the 13th century. Every stone tells a story. Rolv: Wow, that's deep but is there anything besides ugly old houses here???? Lea: Of course, Rolv! Rolv: Like what? Lea: Well we are at the Town hall square at the moment. There are some chruches here like St. Olaf's Church, St. Nicholas' Church, Aleksander Nevsky Cathedral. There is aslo Toompea Castle which is a home to the Estonian parlament. Rolv: Sounds fun but is there anything cool here? Mia: Don't be so rude, Rolv! My sure there is something cool here, right Lea? Lea. Hmmm let me think… Kaspar: Well I've heard something about a tiny and old chemist's shop but I don't remember the name. Lea: Oh yeah! It's the oldest continuously working pharmacy in Europe, tiny Raeapteek. Mia: Let's go there! Kaspar: Yeah, that place is wicked!!! Rolv: Fine, let's go to this fascinating chemist's shop. Kaspar: Chillax mate! (while walking to the chemit's shop Lea tells them about the history of the shop.) Lea: It is located right across the square. According to a medieval legend, the pharmacy is a birthplace of marzipan, a sweet that is loved everywhere in the world. Rolv: I love that stuff! Mia: Finally we cheered him up! Sweets make everyone happy! Kaspar: Look guys! There it is! [They enter the pharmacy and the owner(an old man) is standing in the middle of the shop and greets them nicely.] Rolv: Hello! Can you please tell us what year it is? Chemist: ’Tere’ my little children! My English very good is. Year is 2015. Kaspar: Hello old man! My name is Kaspar and I'm from Estonia. These are my friends. Lea from Finland, Rolv from Denmark and Mia from Germany. Everyone: Hello! Chemist: All nice meet you! Please, look around maybe you find something wicked that likes you! Kaspar: That's my word!! Rolv: Seems like Estonians have something in common. (Mia claps sarcastically) Rolv: Oh come on! That is funny! Lea: Look at this creepy stuff guys! Kaspar: Wicked! Chemist: Yes, yes! Mia: OMG! You guys! We have totally forgotten about time and the time machine. We have to find it and go home. Chemist: DID YOU SAY TIME MACHINE????? Lea: Wait, you know about IT?? Mia: OMG! Do you know where it is??? Rolv: We want to go home! Do you know how?? Chemist: Yes, me know everything about the time machine. Kaspar: We want to go home. Please help us, mr. Chemist!!!! Chemist: Please, call me Kalev! Rolv: Help us, you know-it-all Mr. Kalev! Chemist: If you want to go home, you have to meet up with Mr. Adlof, he will help you. Rolv: You what mate? Lea: Where is this mysterious mr. Adolf? Chemist: In Germany of course! Everyone: GERMANY? Rolv: How will we get to Germany?? Chemist: You need the time machine of course! Me take you little kids to the basement. (The chemist leads the kids to the basement. The time machine is there) Lea: But wait..How will we find mr. Adolf? Chemist: First of all.. ( As the chemist tries to explain how to find mr. Adlof, Kaspar pushes some colourful buttons in the time machine and off they go to Germany not knowing how to find mr. Adlof.) .

Just2 / 2 at the southern edge of Tallinn lies Lake Ülemiste. According to a legend, on the darkest autumnal night each year a mysterious old man climbs out of the Ülemiste depths, knocks on the city gates and asks whether the construction of Tallinn has been completed. The little man has sworn that, should it one day be finished, he will release the lake’s waters and drown out the whole city. The knowing guards therefore always answer, “No, good sir! There’s still a great deal of construction taking place. Please be so good as to come again after a little while.” That’s why Tallinn will never be completed. Though already eight centuries old, it’s still a work in progress, forever growing and reinventing itself while never forgetting its unique heritage. On Town Hall Square you can find a humble apothecary that’s been operating for nearly 600 years. Just a few steps away, there’s an old- fashioned café where specialists make marzipan figurines by hand – edible symbols of Tallinn’s fairytale charm. Nearby, in other cafés and lounge bars, the city’s residents are tapping away at their laptops and surfing the Internet in their iPhones. Historic. Romantic. Friendly. Relaxing. Modern. Daring. Despite all the renovations that took place in the due course of time, this historic masterpiece retains its old-world charm, bearing a largely rustic demeanor. Originally built as a prison and a repository of ammunition, the tower, today, serves as a by Diego Delso meeting point where locals, tourists and history aficionados are together awed by its colossal scale and heritage. Rich with a strong historical background, Hellemann Tower houses the Citizen Hall, the Bumpkin Chamber and an art gallery, all of which harmoniously lend insights into the heritage of the place. Concurrently, the tower is located alongside the sprawling Town Wall, which is regarded as one of Europe’s best-preserved fortifications, upheld by a tapestry of defensive towers. Affording panoramic views of Tallinn’s charming landscape dominated with red- roofed houses, the tower regularly plays host to many art exhibitions and private functions. A prized historic wonder of Tallinn, the glorious Hellemann Tower is a stirring testament to the long-standing military legacy of Estonia.
