Max Marks : 38 Lectures to be delivered : 38 (Internal Assessment : 12Marks Time Allowed : 3 hours (Internal Test = 7 Marks , Attendance=5 Marks) Pass Marks :35 % in the subject (Theory and Practical separately)

Note : (i) Along with Music Instrumental, the candidate can also take Music Vocal and as other elective subjects. (ii) The candidate can opt any of the following instruments : , , , Violin, Dilruba, Flute, , Guitar, .

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PAPER- SETTER

(iii) The question paper will consist of three sections : A, B & C. Section A & B will have 04 questions each from the respective sections of the syllabus and will carry 06 marks each. Section C is compulsory and will consist of 07 short answer type questions, covering the entire syllabus uniformly and will carry 14 marks in all. (iv) While sending the syllabus to Paper Setter the syllabus prescribed for Practical Paper should also be sent. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES

Candidates are required to attempt two questions each from the sections A & B and the entire Section C is compulsory.

ii) Biographical sketches and contribution of the following musicians :

Semester – V PAPER- B (PRACTICAL)

Max Marks : 38 Lectures to be delivered : 75 Internal Assessment : 12 Marks Time Allowed : 20 Minutes (Internal Test=7 Marks , Attendance= 5 Marks) Pass Marks :35% in the subjects (Theory and Practical Separately) i) Performance/Viva : 25 marks ii) Harmonium : 08 marks iii) Tabla : 05 marks

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PRACTICAL EXAMINER There should not be more than 12 students in a batch for practical examination.

i) Drut Gat with Alap, Jor , Toras & Jhala in each of the following ragas: Todi and Malkauns. ii) One Slow Gat with Alaps and Toras in any of the prescribed ragas. iii) Dhun vadan. iv) Abiltiy to play Ada Chautal and Jhumra Talas on Tabla alongwith demonstration by hand in Ekgun and Dugun layakaries. v) Ability to demonstrate Meend in 3- 4 Swaras. vi) Ability to play & sing Aroh, Avroh, and Pakar of the following ragas on Harmonium : Gujri Todi , ChandarKauns x ) Tuning of the instrument. xi) Ability to play National Anthem on your instrument.
