Development viewpoints:

• Utilise natural conditions for the comprehensive development of the seaport system; • Focus on port development for vessels of larger than 100,000 DWT; • Connecting transportation infrastructure to seaports, ICD, Distribution Center,...; • For sustainable development Objectives

• Throughput: 2020: 640 - 680 M tons/year; 2030: 1,040 - 1,160 M tons/year; • Priority for building international gateway ports for vessels of larger than 100,000 tons (8,000 TEUs) in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Hai Phong and the Central Key Economic Region (if possible); specialized ports of large scale vessels. • Comprehensively develop the navigation facilities in all channel system.
