Social Program Monday, July 5th Starting at 19.30 pm Social Dinner at Capri Palace Hotel Social Dinner The social dinner will be held at Capri Palace Hotel in Anacapri (5 stars luxury) at Restaurant “L’Olivo” (2 Michelin stars) Via Capodimonte 2 (close to Monte Solaro chairlift) http://www.capripalace.com Thursday, July 8th Starting at 9:30 am Boat tour of the island Starting at 15.00 pm Escursion to Castello Barbarossa WWF oasis Boat tour of the island Transportation from Anacapri to the harbour of Marina Grande will be provided at 9:00. The boat tour lasts about 2 hours. The excursion cannot be made in adverse weather conditions. Walking excursion at Castello Barbarossa, Anacapri On the mountain top above Villa San Michele are the ruins of a fortress. The fortification dates to around the year 1000 and over the centuries has undergone a series of reconstructions. The historic name Barbarossa refers to the corsair Khair-ed-Din, who in the 16th century captured Capri several times. The collection comprises 31 paintings from the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. A 12-minute chairlift ride will take you right to the top, which is a starting point for a number of scenic trails on the western side of the island, most particularly down the slope to the lovely area around Santa Maria a Cetrella. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0MvkJuB3iA The Curch of San Michele The Church of San Michele in Anacapri was built in 1719 and is one of the most important examples of the 18th century Neapolitan school. The most striking aspect of the church is Leonardo Chiaiese's famous floor executed in maiolica tiles.
