The candidate was born on May 18th, 1904, in Rutland Township, Kane County, Illinois, the son of Edward Dwyer and Catherine Clinnin Dwyer. The paternal grandparents, Richard Dwyer and Ellen !arry Moore Dwyer, ~were the first to possess the land after the aboriginal inhabitants. Illen !arry was a cousin of Captain Jack !arry, the,. first Naval Officer ap pointed by George Washington after the Declaration of Inde- pendence and therefore the founder of the Navy of the United States of America.
