The Amherst Orchid Society has reluctantly decided to cancel this summer’s July Orchid Fest due to dwindling attendance and vendor conflicts.
We have learned that Kalapana Tropicals on the big island of Hawaii is having a special sale of bare root Cattleyas as a result of sustaining damage in the 6.9 earthquake related to the recent activity of Mt. Kilauea. Check them out at 808-966-6842 www.kalapanatropicals.com

New Hampshire Orchid Society General Meeting May 12, 2018
Opening President called the meeting to order and welcomed new members and guests.
Nominating Committee Chair for up-coming elections in August – Norm Selander-Carrier will head the committee. We need a Trustee, Treasurer and Vice President nominees. Susan Usseglio has agreed to stay on as secretary for another term as well as Jim Petry to stay on as Trustee for another term; Joanna Ekstrom to stay on as Risk Management Chair. Sonja Lee has agreed to be publicity chair for society business. Membership: 48 annual family, 38 annual individual, 13 individual lifetime, 21 lifetime family – 120 memberships for a total of 189 members. There are 21 plants donated from UNH (no-name Oncidium some Gower Ramsey) upon flowing send picture to Jean Stefanik and she will be able to tell you what it is. ****Donations needed for Luncheon table.**** We have a total net worth of $51,399.57; checking account total of $28,882.46; Expense manifest of $373.63 Annual picnic will be held at Ann Chepjian home. Risk Management By-Laws and Guide Book tabled until next meeting.
