Accelerated Schedule for the Clinical Neuropsychology Minor

Clinical Neuropsychology Minor Requirements  Psychopharmacology (PSA 6071), which requires the pre-requisite Physiological Psychology (PSA 6930)  Neuroscience of Human Behavior, Cognition, and Affect (PSH 6014), which requires the pre-requisite Physiological Psychology (PSA 6930)  Introduction to Clinical Neuropsychology I and II (PSH 6011, 6012), which requires the co-requisite Neuroscience of Human Behavior, Cognition, and Affect (PSH 6014)  A year-long Clinical Neuropsychology Externship

Schedule Adjustments Several exceptions can be made for students trying to complete their neuropsychology minor before internship applications are due and interviews begin (i.e., completed within the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year of the program). Students interested in making changes to their course schedules must meet with their academic advisor and the program director for approval.

 There are several cases that permit students to adopt an accelerated Clinical Neuropsychology Minor schedule o Students committed to two years of the CBT track may elect to delay Category A electives that are taken in the 1st and 2nd years (Self Psychology or Interpersonal and Relational ) to their 3rd or 4th year. o Students committed to two years of the Psychodynamic track may elect to delay Category B electives that are taken in the 1st and 2nd year (Cognitive or Behavior Therapy) to their 3rd or 4th year. o Students who are taking fewer credits in their 1st or 2nd year due to transferred credits from a master’s level program, are also able to adopt an accelerated schedule.

 The following are possibilities for schedules that would accommodate an accelerated Clinical Neuropsychology Minor. Please refer to the Curriculum Planner below for reference. 1. Students may take Physiological Psychology in the Spring of their 1st or 2nd year (if their schedule allows the extra credits), and receive an exception to take Neuroscience of Human Behavior, Cognition, and Affect in the Spring of their 2nd year. This would allow students to take Psychopharmacology and Introduction to Clinical Neuropsychology I and II in their 3rd year. 2. Students may take Physiological Psychology in the Fall of their 2nd year (as opposed to the Spring), by enrolling in the course offered by the PhD program (PSH 6938). This will allow students to take Science of Cognitive and affective Function in the Spring of 2nd year, and the full-year Introduction to Clinical Neuropsychology along with Psychopharmacology in their 3rd year.
