One of these requests had been for an order for saying mass which would conform with the principles of the movement in which they both were so <leeply concerned. Luthre had replied more or less promptly to all of Haus mann's requests except the last, and only after repeated urg ing by letter, through Stephen Roth, who was studying theology at Wittenberg, and through other friends did Luther meet Hausmann's hope and plea. Luther sent Hausmann a copy of a pamphlet 011 another subject on November 13. 1523, and in the accompanying letter told him that he would send to him a copy of the form of mass which he proposed for the ttse of the Wittenberg church. This may have been ready for printing at the time of writing this letter, for a few weeks later, on December 4, Luther sent Hausmann a printed copy of the Formula mis sae et communionis pro ecclesia Wittembergensi. It reached him 011 December 11, and its arrival moved Hausmann to expressions of gratitude, joy, and satisfaction.

												  A Comparison of the Two Forms of the Roman RiteA Comparison of the Two Forms of the Roman Rite Mass Structures Orientation Language The purpose of this presentation is to prepare you for what will very likely be your first Traditional Latin Mass (TLM). This is officially named “The Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite.” We will try to do that by comparing it to what you already know - the Novus Ordo Missae (NOM). This is officially named “The Ordinary Form of the Roman Rite.” In “Mass Structures” we will look at differences in form. While the TLM really has only one structure, the NOM has many options. As we shall see, it has so many in fact, that it is virtually impossible for the person in the pew to determine whether the priest actually performs one of the many variations according to the rubrics (rules) for celebrating the NOM. Then, we will briefly examine the two most obvious differences in the performance of the Mass - the orientation of the priest (and people) and the language used. The orientation of the priest in the TLM is towards the altar. In this position, he is facing the same direction as the people, liturgical “east” and, in a traditional church, they are both looking at the tabernacle and/or crucifix in the center of the altar. The language of the TLM is, of course, Latin. It has been Latin since before the year 400. The NOM was written in Latin but is usually performed in the language of the immediate location - the vernacular. Jesus says, “Whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 10:32) Therefore, “I will speak of Your testimonies before kings and shall not be put to shame.” (Psalm 119:46) Confession and Absolution for the Chorale Service ELH p. 107 outlines “Rite Four, the Lutheran ‘Chorale’ Service.” This outline, adapted from Luther’s Deutsche Messe (1526), suggests using hymn paraphrases and liturgical wording from elsewhere in ELH for the liturgical ordinary. In the interest of integrating Luther’s Small Catechism into the worship service, we have adapted the following form for Confession and Absolution from the Catechism especially for use with this service immediately after the Invocation. This wording is based on An Explanation of Dr. Martin Luther’s Small Catechism (ELS, 2001) p. 23. Confession consists of two parts: one, that we confess our sins; the other, that we receive absolution, or forgiveness, from the pastor or confessor as from God himself, and in no way doubt, but firmly believe that our sins are thereby forgiven before God in heaven. Therefore, let us confess our sins and receive God’s forgiveness. Holy God, I acknowledge that I am guilty of all sins, even those which I do not know about. Before You, O Lord, and before Your representative, I acknowledge those sins which I know and feel in my heart.

There is a TV in that room with which you can still follow along with today's service. A changing table is in the women’s restroom. Holy Communion: Each service includes the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. The Bible clearly teaches that the Lord’s Supper is not intended for everyone. Therefore, our church honors the Bible’s teaching of close communion. (1 Co. 11:28-29, 1 Co. 10:16-17, Romans 16:17, 2 Co. 6:14). Only members of this church and our church body are to cele- brate the Lord’s Supper. Visitors are encouraged to speak to the pastor if they have any questions. About Today’s Service: One of the most important “reforms” that Martin Luther made in the life of the Christian church was to clean up the Mass, or the public service of Holy Communion. Today, we follow the general outline of Lu- ther’s Deutsche Messe (the German Mass), including some of the liturgical songs that Luther wrote for the service. As in the medieval Latin mass, Luther began his service with an Entrance Psalm.

In 2013, a small group of German green and left- wing activists, professional campaign NGOs and well-established protectionist organisations set up deceptive communication campaigns against TTIP, the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership between the European Union and the United States. Germany’s anti-TTIP NGOs explicitly aimed to take German-centred protests to other European countries. Their reasoning is contradictory and logically inconsistent. Their messages are targeted to serve common sense protectionist demands of generally ill-informed citizens and politicians. Thereby, anti-TTIP communication is based on metaphoric messages and far-fetched myths to effectively evoke citizens’ emotions. Together, these groups dominated over 90 percent of online media reporting on TTIP in Germany. Anti-TTIP protest groups in Germany are not only inventive; they are also resourceful. Based on generous public funding and opaque private donations, green and left-wing political parties, political foundations, clerical and environmental groups, and well-established anti-globalisation organisations maintain influential campaign networks. Protest groups’ activities are coordinated by a number of former and current green and left-wing politicians and political parties that search for anti-establishment political profiles. As Wallon blockage mentality regarding CETA, the trade and investment agreement between the European Union and Canada, demonstrates, Germany’s anti-TTIP groups’ attempts to undermine EU trade policy bear the risk of coming to fruition in other Eurpean countries.
