Many people think if they get the shot they will get the flu, but that’s not true the shot is not a live virus. Some people are just prone to getting sick. The Scott County Health Department thinks it’s very important that every- one gets the flu shot because getting the flu is much worse than just getting a little poke in the arm.

Even though the Health Department states their claim, not very many people get the flu shot in Scott County. In all of Scott County, which is approximately 5,222, the Health Department has only ordered 400 doses and so far 360 have been given out.

I took the liberty of asking two students on what they thought about the flu shot.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, when most major retailers have opened their doors extremely early and offered promotional sales to kick off the holiday season. Most retailers open at 6:00 a.m., but in the late 2000s many had started opening at 5:00 or even 4:00a.m. Black Friday first started in Phila- delphia in 1961 and it’s the fourth Thursday of November.

Many stores take part in Black Friday sales including , , Bells, JCPenney and . About 226 million people go Black Friday shopping and about 11.4 billion dollars is made during Black Friday. Black Friday is worldwide; many countries like UK, Canada, Germany, , , , and have their own version of Black Friday. Katelyn Chavez
