May 29, 30 and 31 are the dates to circle on your calendar - - and they'll be here sooner than you think. If you like to make plans in advance, (anyone who can operate efficiently without doing so receives our undying ad¬ miration!) we offer a brief sketch of each activity to be of¬ fered during the festival week-end: MAY 29 - FRIDAY AFTERNOON - A folk dancers' picnic will be held in the San Jose area - Senter Park. For those who are free on that day, there will be dancing out-of-doors. Pot Luck Picnic, and a relaxed atmosphere to open the festivities. MAY 29 - FRIDAY EVENING - Dancers' and Teachers' Institute pre¬ sented at McCabe Hall, next to the Civic Auditorium, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Several top instructors will offer brand new mat¬ erial for your learning pleasure. Admittance, $2.00; if you pre-register, $1,50. Following this will be the first general dancing session beginning at 10:30 p.m. and lasting 'til 2 a.m. MAY 30 - SATURDAY MORNING - Tour of the Paul Masson Winery com¬ plete with samples! This will be done on a reservation basis, and more information will be issued at a later date. Watch for it. MAY 30 - SATURDAY AFTERNOON - General folk dancing at McCabe Hall. Your favorites and everyone else's blended into a fine program. MAY 30 - SATURDAY EVENING - The BIG one! "Festival Internation¬ ale" Concert — on stage, with 20 groups in brand new costumes, song and dance, taking you on an arm-chair tour of many lands. Ti(d<ets are $2.50; pre-registration price, $2,00. Following the Concert, general dancing until 12:30 a.m. in the Civic Auditorium, and a Balkan Party at McCabe Hall until 2:00 a.m. There will be an After Party at the Ste.Claire Hotel from 12:30 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. Dance 'til you drop,do your thing, BUT----be fresh for------- MAY 31 - SUNDAY MORNING - Installation Brunch at the Ste.Claire Hotel, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A delicious menu is plan¬ ned for your enjoyment, after which the current Federation of¬ ficers, both North and South, will vacate their respective of¬ fices to make way for the new ones. In different rural communities of Shirak region nowadays live representatives of the Armenain generation who have immigrated from Western Armenia and bear unique musical specimen. They are folk and national multi-genre song types and musical instrumental works. In the article we have touched upon 100 folk songs compiled from the folkloristic material organized in about 20 communities of Shirak region in 2015 March-April, that not only give us common notion of the song tradition of our compatriots migrated from Moush and Alashkert, in 2015, but they also certify that the tradition of folk song creativity is alive and coexists next to the very different modern cultural manifestations. Keywords: Ethnomusicology, Musical folklore, Shirak regon, traditional music, folk song, study, revival. The musical heritage of Shirak of the 19th-20th centuries has its unique place and role in the development of the Armenian national music. The rich musical folklore, imbued with the genre- stylistic features of the musical dialects of Western Armenia, became the basis for the unprecedented development of the professional music of the oral tradition and the creation of a valuable heritage. From the second half of the 19th century Armenian philologists and musician-folklorists became interested in the flourishing art of the Armenian bards and folk music players of Shirak.

Archaeological finds in the ―Kozarnika‖ cave, near the town of Belogradchik, testify to the life of the first inhabitants of southeastern Europe. With the emergence of agriculture (VII-VI millennium BC) in the valleys of Struma and Mesta rivers, the live of people here is transformed. Dwellings of stone and wood, permanent settlements and tribes appeared. The discovery of copper noted a peak in the agriculture in our land. Open in 1972, Varna treasure is evidence of advanced human relationships - property differentiation. In the III-II millennium BC, with the arrival of the nomadic tribes of the north and merging them with the local farmers, formed a large tribal community - the Thracians. Their culture is described by the ancient Greeks. The largest Thracian tribe- Odrysaeans, founded in V century BC their country, between the Maritsa River and Black Sea, led by king Teres. Thracians established a rich culture, although they have no script. Many lavish tombs in our lands reveal the sacraments of faith in the afterlife. Top of the art of the ancient Thracian is tomb of Kazanlak . 4 Since 1979, Kazanlak Tomb is in the List of World Heritage of UNESCO. Thracians demonstrated exceptional craft skills in the processing of gold and silver.

Aux Langues O’, langue et culture turques sont parmi les enseignements fondateurs de l’institution, et le grec moderne a eu très tôt une place de choix, puisque c’est dès 1800 qu’Ansse de Villoison inaugurait son enseignement. Entre le turc, le grec et l’INALCO, c'est déjà une vieille histoire, naturellement et plus que jamais porteuse d’avenir.

A dance happening that took place before the lining of the boundaries to date in the Greek and Turkish Thrace is that of “K’na”. “K’na” is a female dance happening which is danced to date by the people of both areas in spite of their religious beliefs, social – economic and cultural development. The purpose of this project is to study the different expressions of this dance in Nea Vyssa and examine if these are related to matters of search and conformation of ethnic and national identity of this group under the terms of the social cybernetics.
