LIVE AUCTION ITEMS LIVE #1 ROCK 'N RIVER WEST VIRGINIA WHITEWATER ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME You and your family will experience the exhilarating rush of this amazing whitewater adventure on the Upper New River! This New River Gorge adventure trip includes a three-night stay, a full day of rafting on the Upper New River and a half-day of guided mountain climbing and rappelling on some of the best terrain in the eastern US. Your adventure will begin on the Upper New River with an all-day guided rafting trip designed for families with children ages 6 and up. You will raft through the dramatic scenery of the New River Gorge and enjoy a lunch on the river. After a full day of rafting, sit back and enjoy a campfire under the stars. Your next adventure includes a half-day of guided rock climbing and rappelling. This climbing trip has been designed to focus on family. HOW DOES THE SUPER SILENT AUCTION WORK?

 Super Silent is a Blind Auction.  Super silent auction items will be on display at the Benefit Auction Holiday Party on December 5.  Bid results will be displayed on the screen in the Field House.  Dollar amount of the current high bid will not show on the bid results screen (see below for example).  Current highest bidder/paddle number will be displayed.  Bidding will take place on computers at a bank along the windows in the Field House gymnasium.  Adult IT professionals will be available to assist in placing bids and answering any questions about this system which will feature quicker results than in the past.  Note: Each item requires its own bid.  If your bidder/paddle number does not show on the bid results screen (in less than one minute), you have been overbid. If your bidder/paddle number appears and is later replaced, someone has overbid you and you need to bid again!  Bids must: . Be in whole dollar amounts . Indicate bidder/paddle number . Be signed

HOW DOES EXPRESS CHECKOUT WORK?

 2 WAYS TO REGISTER: Complete the back of your RSVP card with the requested information and send it in to the Development Office. . If you register via your RSVP card, you won’t need to stand in line the night of the event to register for Express Checkout.

OR

Upon arrival at the Holiday Party, provide your credit card (Visa or MasterCard) to a volunteer at the Express Checkout registration table. . An imprint of your card will be taken and your card will be immediately returned to you.

 Bid on items as you normally would throughout the evening.

 APPROXIMATELY 20 minutes after the final closing of the super silent auction, you may pick up your receipt, hand it to a volunteer who will find your item(s), and then you can be on your way home!

 PLEASE NOTE: Express Checkout DOES NOT MEAN that you can claim your items when you’re ready to leave. A volunteer must coordinate gathering your items once you present your receipt.

 EXPRESS CHECKOUT IS OPTIONAL. You may still wait until the end of the evening to complete your purchases in the cashier’s office if you prefer, or you may pick up your item(s) Monday, December 8 following the Holiday Party.

GUARANTEED BANK

WHAT IS THE GUARANTEED BANK? Some guests come to the benefit with a budgeted amount that they plan to spend, but then don’t end up as the winning bidder on their item(s) of choice. Most people come to the benefit with the intention of giving to the school – so we’ve found what we hope is the perfect solution.

HOW DOES THE GUARANTEED BANK WORK? You specify an amount you are planning to spend at the auction. If you make purchases at the event, the purchases will be charged against the “banked” amount.  If you owe more than you banked, we will provide an invoice for the difference.  If the value of your purchases is less than the amount you have banked, the Academy of the Sacred Heart will benefit from your generosity and keep the remaining amount as a charitable donation. The portion above the market value of your purchases is a charitable gift.

REGISTER FOR THE GUARANTEED BANK:

 Upon arrival at the Holiday Party, provide your credit card (Visa or MasterCard) to a volunteer at the registration table. . An imprint of your card will be taken and your card will be immediately returned to you.

Sixteen faculty members are hoping you can make their benefit wishes come true. This year’s faculty wish list items are Multimedia Projection Carts. These mobile stations allow teachers to bring the sights and sounds of the world into their classrooms. Each multimedia projection cart includes an LCD projector, DVD/VHS combo unit, and a powerful sound system. Faculty can wirelessly connect computers to the projectors to create “A Window to the World.” Purchase one of these wonders for the school for $1,120 or make a partial pledge.

915 Kensington Hall - A Reflection of Peace, Hope & Love - Metal Artwork This 26 x 26 piece was created exclusively by our Kensington Hall artists and represents a "shining example" of worldly faith and values. Each young man tooled a meaningful international symbol of peace, hope or love into copper, brass or tin metal. Their repoussage technique was used to give each tile a dimensional bas-relief finish. The large center mirror can be covered with the "tree of life" copper tile provided for this option. A beautiful powerful piece!
