Why Cotton Is So Special WHY COTTON IS SO SPECIAL Did you know that cotton is the best material to infuse tea with? Many years ago, when tea was first transported from the East to the West, the traders would wrap tea leaves in little pieces of cotton cloth, that way preserving them throughout their journey. Unlike paper, used in most conventional tea bags, cotton does not absorb the flavour of the tea. Nor does it impart any additional flavour like infusers made of other materials may. Cotton acts like a natural sieve, transferring the flavours of the tea directly to the teapot or your cup. And that way you get to experience the full flavour and aroma of your chosen tea, without having to share it with the tea bag first! In line with their commitment to the best quality of all their teas as well as the accessories that accompany tea drinking, TWG Tea has carried the theme of using only cotton throughout their different products. They have spared no effort in creating the ultimate tea bag using biodegradable 100% cotton material and thread, entirely hand sewn in order not to crush the fine whole leaf teas inside. Each tea bag contains the exact same high quality tea leaves retailed loose, conveniently portioned in 2.5g servings for the perfect cup of tea. Cotton gives the tea leaves ample room to expand ensuring a full and aromatic infusion. The different tea filters are also made entirely of 100% cotton material. The reusable TWG Tea Cotton Tea Filter fits over any teapot and is the best accessory to brew the perfect pot of tea with. If you prefer to just make one cup at a time or travel a lot and like to bring your favourite tea along, try using the Disposable Cotton Tea Filters little cotton envelopes that allow you to create your own tea bag. So next time you are making tea, make sure there is cotton involved! • Rishi Tea Debuts Organic & Fair Trade Certifiedtm Tea Bags, Featuring
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Rishi Tea debuts Organic & Fair Trade CertifiedTM Tea Bags, Featuring the Latest Innovation in Specialty Tea 2012 NATIONAL RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION SHOW Milwaukee, Wisconsin April 13, 2012: Rishi Tea (www.rishi-tea.com), leading international purveyor of organic and Fair Trade CertifiedTM loose-leaf teas, introduces its first line of specialty tea bags. Rishi Tea is first to market with an innovative knit-mesh filter bag that imparts a level of flavor, aroma and body, which standard paper or silky tea bags cannot match. Debuting at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago, Rishi Teaʼs organic tea bags highlight the latest innovation in the tea industry with aims to elevate the quality of the tea bag market. “Weʼre excited to introduce tea lovers to the fullest flavors and most aromatic, vivid infusions theyʼve ever experienced from a tea bag. Rishi Tea offers a new filter mesh material from plant based resources that yields a far greater extraction ratio and infusion quality than any other tea bag. Paper and even fine mesh silky bag materials are too tightly woven and act as a barrier to the tealeavesʼ infusion. We found a looser weave was needed to improve the overall tea bag experience in restaurants and foodservice at a cost per bag that meets or beats the current silky tea bag brands.” Says Joshua Kaiser, Founder and President, Rishi Tea. Available now, for Restaurants, Hotels and Food Service, 10 organic tea bags flavors: Jade Cloud Green Tea, Jasmine Green Tea, Earl Grey, Pu-erh Ginger, Blueberry Rooibos, Peppermint Rooibos, Chamomile Medley, Tropical Hibiscus & Turmeric Lemon Each organic tea bag is individually sealed in a tastefully designed, printed overwrap that maintains optimum freshness.
