(information referring only to CGD's activity in Portugal) or CGD (information regarding the activity pursued by CGD in Portugal and by the CGD Group entities covered in this report), publishes the Annual Sustainability Report concerning its activity in 2017. The data herein refer to the period from 1 January to 31 December 2017, including information relating to previous years, in order to provide a perspective of the evolution of CGD's performance. The sustainability information reported mainly concerns CGD's operations in Portugal and information is also reported on the sustainability performance of the following CGD Group entities, within this scope: CGD Group Companies: Caixa – Banco de Investimento, S.A.; Caixa Gestão de Activos, S.G.P.S; Economic Interest Grouping: Sogrupo Compras e Serviços Partilhados, ACE and Sogrupo Sistemas de Informação, ACE; and Affiliate Banks – Banco Interatlântico, S.A. and Banco Comercial do Atlântico, S.A., both from Cabo Verde; Banco Caixa Geral Brasil, S.A.; Timor Branch. For the third straight year, CGD adopted an integrated reporting model, including relevant sustainability information in its Annual Management Report and Accounts. We should note that, following trends of developments in reporting, Decree-Law no. 89/2017, of 28 July, was published, which sets forth new obligations regarding the disclosure of non-financial information and diversity, applicable to annual periods that begin on or after 1 January 2017. This Decree-Law transposes into national law Directive 2014/95/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, establishing mandatory reporting on environmental, social and employee-related issues, gender equality, non-discrimination, respect for human rights, the fight against corruption and bribery attempts and diversity in administrative and supervisory bodies. In this regard, the 2017 sustainability report consists of several documents. In addition to this Report, additional information is provided on policies, practices and performance of the company at cgd.pt: Annual Report 2017, GRI Index 2017, Sustainability Indicators 2017 and Methodological Notes. Matters relating to sustainability were addressed in accordance with the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), in their latest version (GRI Standards 2016), including the financial supplement for the "comprehensive" option. The topics addressed in this report were identified as part of the materiality analysis resulting from the process of internal and external Stakeholder consultation, carried out in 2015. This report is included as part of the 2017 sustainability information verification issued by Caixa Geral de Depósitos, S.A., carried out by EY. For more information, please read the verification statement on the Sustainability Report (Independent Reliability Assurance Report) included in the Annex to this report. The scope of reporting, in the case of CGD, S.A., is in line with the materiality results obtained, whereas affiliate banks and branches report some indicators according to their reporting and monitoring capacity and to the context of the market in which they operate, as duly identified in the GRI table, available at https://www.cgd.pt/Institucional/Sustentabilidade-CGD/Reporting-Desempenho/Pages/Reporting- desempenho.aspx CGD SUSTAINABILITY REPORT - 2017 5 CGD is a signatory of the Global Compact Principles and the Sustainable Relevant topic: Development Goals (SDGs), both of the United Nations (UN). Throughout the Adapting to report, initiatives that attest to the alignment with these principles and goals are regulatory trends identified. The continuous improvement of the corporate report as part of Sustainability is an objective pursued by CGD; therefore, the email: [email protected] is made available to readers and stakeholders so they can send their contributions. Brand, Mission and Values Historically speaking, Caixa is the most well-known brand in Portuguese Banking. According to BrandScore, Caixa achieved 32% of top-of-mind notoriety and a non-customer attractiveness rate of 18%. In both cases, Caixa holds the lead. Caixa is also the most solid and trusted bank with the highest customer loyalty, according to Basef. Caixa received the following Awards and Distinctions in 2017: Best Bank - Caixa was distinguished for the third consecutive year as Best Bank, as part of the 2016 Europe Banking Awards awarded by EMEA Finance magazine. Best Investment Bank Portugal 2017 - CaixaBI was considered the best investment bank in Portugal 2017 by the American magazine Global Finance. Best Investment Bank in Portugal 2017 - awarded by Euromoney (Awards for Excellence). Data Integrity Compliance - Regional Award 2016 - Caixa was distinguished by MasterCard as MasterCard Acquirer at Automatic Payment Terminals (APTs). 1st Prize at the Green Project Awards Portugal 2016 - the "Bank Card Recycling" project was the winner of the 9th Green Project Awards in the Efficient Resource Management category. Best National Bond Manager and Best National Bond Fund - Caixagest was distinguished by Morningstar for the third consecutive year.

For the traveller who comes in from the sea, Lisbon, even from afar, rises like a fair vision in a dream, clear-cut against a bright blue sky which the sun gladdens with its gold. And the domes, the monuments, the old castles jut up above the mass of houses, like far-off heralds of this delightful seat, of this blessed region. The tourist's wonder begins when the ship approaches the bar, and, after passing the Bugio lighthouse 2 - that little guardian-tower at the mouth of the river built three centuries ago on the plan of Friar João Turriano -, the castled Tower of Belém 3 appears, a magnificent specimen of sixteenth century military architecture, in the romantic-gothic-moorish style (v. here ). As the ship moves forward, the river grows more narrow, soon to widen again, forming one of the largest natural harbours in the world with ample anchorage for the greatest of fleets. Then, on the left, the masses of houses cluster brightly over the hills. That is Lisbon . Landing is easy and quick enough ; it is effected at a point of the bank where means of transport abound. A carriage, a motor-car, or even a common electric trail, will carry the stranger in a few minutes right to the centre of the city.

Questions (1) How to use the programme and site impositions to create a low-tech yet sophisticated and highly experiential public building? (2) How to utilize digital modelling and manufacturing technologies within an extremely tight budget and construction schedule? Aims/Objectives (1) To enhance the topographic and panoramic experience of the site through the building. The auditorium and cafeteria create an amphitheatre-like zone, thus exposing the auditorium’s cultural activities while at the same time appreciating the city view. (2) To maximize CAD and CAD/CAM technologies during the design process (six weeks) in order to build the 1,000m2 pavilion in the shortest time (four weeks). (3) To conceive a sustainable design in line with the temporary nature of the building. Contexts The building can be understood in the line of contemporary investigations in which highly innovative digital technologies in the design process are applied to extremely low-tech and cheap construction techniques (below ¤400,000), for example scaffolding with laser-cut mdf cladding. Methods The research involved the testing of various programmatic solutions and different site locations; extensive 3D computer modelling and visualizations and their application to a recyclable metal scaffolding and laser-cut MDF cladding.

Introduction In 2015 the IPA released a special report on the Future of Book Fairs , (http://bit.ly/1S234If ) asking if they still bring value to modern publishing. The report found that book fairs are still the engine that keeps the wheels of publishing turning. But whatever their target audience, their common goal is to showcase authors, books and brands, and connect suppliers with buyers.
