GUIDELINES FOR WRITING YOUR NARRATION

A style revue narration helps both the model and the audience. The narration tells the audience the model's name, information about the garment, and helps the model point out fashion details on the garment.

In writing your narration use lively descriptions that are highly informative. Active words such as "Stepping out..." or "Ready for..."help keep the interest high. Use questions and look through fashion magazines for popular catch phrases.

The narration should not be longer than the length of time the model is on stage.

WHAT TO PUT IN YOUR NARRATION

Choose some topics from the list. One narration need not include all these points.

1. Lead sentence should introduce the model by name, club, etc., and describe the garment briefly.

2. Give some details about the garment following a logical sequence such as from top of the garment downward, front to back, outside to inside.

3. You might list some learning experiences or construction techniques such as hand stitched zipper, decorative top stitching, etc.

4. Tell about accessories.

5. Original ideas used by the model - trims, pocket designs, etc.

6. How the garment reflects current fashion and styles.

7. The 4-H background and special interests of the model

8. Amount of money saved or features of the garment. Example: easy care, wash ability, versatility.
