Year 6 transition to Applications for Secondary School are now open and should be completed by 31st October 2017. The easiest way to apply for a school place is online at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/admissions. Tupton Hall School – Thursday 14 September - 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm – Tuesday 19 September – 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm Brookfield Community School – Wednesday 20 September - 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm – Thursday 28 September – 4.00 pm to 6.30 pm Highfields School – Thursday 5 October – 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm and 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm

You only make one application and you are invited to state three preferences on it. This is the only application form you need to fill in - whether you do that by phone or online. Online or phone applications will be acknowledged automatically.

Year 5 Swimming The swimming programme for Year 5 begins on Monday 18th September. Year 5 children need to ensure they have their kit, 50p for a locker and a fruit snack if they wish.

FLU Immunisation forms Pupils in Y1, Y2, Y3 and 4 recently received Influenza Vaccination Consent Forms from the Schools Immunisation Team. Please return the form as soon as possible. The forms do need returning, even if you do not wish your child to receive the vaccine. Many thanks.

Is your child eligible for free schools meals? School benefits from additional funding by you registering, even if you do not take the meals. There are 3,000 children in Derbyshire who could be getting free school meals. It is your right to receive free school meals support if you are eligible. If you receive: Income Support, Income based job seekers allowance, Income- related Employment and Support Allowance Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999, The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit, Child Tax Credit but not Working Tax Credit and your annual income does not exceed £16,190, Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit or Employment and support allowance you can apply for free school meals. Please collect a form from the school office or apply online at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals
