SAFETY GUIDE – HOW TO AVOID BLOW OUT

Under certain circumstances the mixture can be ejected from the filled hole, sometimes at high velocity. This is referred to as a "Blow Out" and may be caused be any of the following: hole too small, air pockets in the holes, warm water incorrectly used. Please read the Safety Guide before starting the job.

BE SURE TO FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS, AND ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SAFETY GLASSES AND GLOVES. COVER HOLES WITH A PLASTIC SHEET OR TARPAULIN. STAND BACK AFTER FILLING.

1. Do not stand over or look inside filled hole. The force of a Blow Out can cause serious injury. Always wear your eye protection and other equipment. 2. Follow the Temperature chart to choose correct Product Type 3. Pour into holes within 10 minutes of mixing 4. Do not allow excess product to be left in bucket 5. Do not go to the hole if blow out occurs

STEP 1 DRILL: Always wear safety glasses & gloves. Drill holes with rock or core drill using 1.25-1.50” drill bit. Spacing of holes should be between 8-20” apart depend- ing on material to be broken. Drill between 80-90% of the depth, do not go through. Product needs free space to expand into. Refer to website for drill pattern information. STEP 2 MIX: Choose the correct product type for your temperature. Pour 1.5 Litres of common cold water in a bucket and gradually add one 5KG bag. Mix either by hand with rubber gloves, or using a paddle, until powder is completely dissolved in the water into a slurry. STEP 3 POUR: Holes must be clean and free from water and residue. Pour product into pre-drilled holes within 10 minutes of mixing & ll to 1 inch from the top. TIP: do not leave excess product in the bucket. Cover holes with Tarp. Leave up to 24 hrs for best results.
