APS 4 Financial Analyst –Treasury Management Job Reference Number: DFG/00025/21 Salary: $68,442 - $74,721 (plus super) (From 18 February 2021) Position Location: Canberra, ACT Employment Status: Permanent Security Level: Baseline Group: Defence Finance Group Division: Budgets and Financial Services Contact Officer: Vasu Patel 02 5109 0225 [email protected] Closing Date: 11:30pm (AEST), 22 February 2021 Extensions and late applications will not be accepted Your Role Your role as an APS 4 Financial Analyst in Treasury Management will include the following: • Participate in cash and liquidity management activities to ensure treasury and banking deadlines are met. • Contribute to treasury reporting obligations to meet legislative, accounting and stakeholder requirements. • Understand and apply Defence’s financial policies to treasury and banking activities to meet business outcomes. • Draft correspondence, briefs, ministerials and reports on treasury matters. • Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities. • Work collaboratively with stakeholders and subject matter experts to progress treasury matters in accordance with Defence objectives. • Interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks. • Assess treasury issues affecting achievement of desired outcomes and recommend solutions. DFG consists of two Divisions, Financial Performance and Management (FP&M) Division and Budgets and Financial Services (B&FS) Division. FP&M Division provides embedded finance staff across the country working closely with Defence Groups and Services to deliver management accounting, advice and support. B&FS Division delivers the full range of central financial functions including Commonwealth and internal budgeting, statutory financial requirements, financial systems, operations and policies. The role will be suitable to individuals seeking the challenge of being part of the team ensuring Defence is meeting its financial management obligations to a large and varied stakeholder base. You will be managing numerous domestic and offshore bank accounts, interpreting and apply financial policies, and engaging with Defence personnel and service providers on a range of issues. Desirable Qualifications, Experience or Training Ideally you have a background within a treasury function or in a similar high volume accounts processing environment in a medium to large organisation.
