Dan Honegger The St. PeteWest House has been caring for bone Stacy Howell marrow transplant (BMT) families for more than two George Meyer decades. Their needs are very different from those of Kerry O’Reilly other families since their immunosuppressed children Bonnie Patchen are susceptible to infection. Because of this, we reserve a portion of the West Tom Powers House just for BMT families. Last year, we had 36 of those families stay an average Richard Reeves of 33 days, far above the average of eight days. Core Programs Ronald McDonald House® MISSION STATEMENT The Ronald McDonald House offers families a place to call home while their child is receiving critical Ronald McDonald House medical treatment in area hospitals. For 33 years, our Ronald McDonald Houses have provided a “home- Charities of Tampa Bay away-from-home” for 46,000 pediatric families in need of comfort and care during a most difficult time in their lives. Annually, 2,000 families come through our doors, looking for a quiet place to rest their heads provides comfort, care and find solace. My husband Adam used to borrow a line from comedian Our mei meis (Mandarin Chinese for “little sisters”) were Bill Cosby whenever people exclaimed over the fact that born in China, but they were also born in our hearts. The Red Shoe Council consists of young and mid-professionals who live and work in the . The goal of the group is to raise community awareness and operating funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay.

The Red Shoe Council holds social fundraisers such as: volleyball tournaments, Spring Training baseball games, cocktail hours, pub crawls, fun runs, etc. In addition to fundraising, the Red Shoe Council prepares meals at the Houses to allow members hands-on interaction with our families and House program. Since 2009 we have worked with Action Donation Services to receive donations of cars, boats, trailers and RVs. This partnership has resulted in more than $47,000 in donations to date, which provides 650 family nights at the Ronald McDonald House. If you or someone you know is interested in donating a vehicle to support our families, please contact us.

Kimal Lumber’s Classic Car Show April13, 2014 - Centennial Park, Venice Classic and exotic car owners gather annually for this popular downtown Venice event, which continues to grow each year. Kimal Lumber combines the proceeds from this classic and their fall golf tournament into donations benefiting RMH and All Children’s Hospital. To date they have raised $222,000 for RMH! DRIVER LICENSES Please remember to add $1 (or more) for RMH when you with a purchase or renew your Florida drivers license or vehicle tag. My husband and I stayed at the Mark Hollfelder lost his son Gregg in 2012 after a lifetime of chronic illness, which included staying at RMH. The St. Pete East House held their first annual Howl-O-Ween party starring our therapy dogs! The event, organized by Assistant Manager Rebecca Saglibene, featured food, fun and prizes. Nurse Bandi Aid was on hand for face painting and the kids enjoyed a “build your own goodie bag” table. Thank you to all of our pups, owners and volunteers for making this an awesome event!
