L'album, certificato ORO in Italia, contiene duetti con Lily Allen, Michael Bublé, Kelly Clarkson, Olly Murs e Rufus Wainwright oltre ad una LA REDAZIONE selezione di classici swing del passato e brani inediti scritti con lo storico collaboratore Guy Chambers, qui in veste anche di produttore del disco. Il disco, pubblicato su etichetta Island Records, si apre con gli inediti "Shine My Shoes" e "Go Gentle" (primo singolo estratto dall'album accompagnato da un video visibile su http://youtu.be/o3OWZaIpEDk con oltre 1 milione di visualizzazioni) per poi proseguire con un grande classico del passato come "I Wan'na Be Like You" con Olly Murs e con [email protected] "Swing Supreme" e arrivare poi alla title track (altro inedito) "Swings Both SPETTACOLINEWS.IT Ways" in collaborazione con Rufus Wainwright. A number of the judges will be at this Young Songwriter 2018 showcase to watch their favourites perform live. GUY CHAMBERS „Go Gentle Into The Light“ VÖ: 03. Mai 2019 BMG Guy Chambers ist nicht nur ein exzellenter Multiinstrumentalist, Komponist, Producer und Musical Director – ebenfalls stellt er eine Hälfte der erfolgreichsten Songwriting-Partnerschaft in der Geschichte der britischen Popmusik dar: Um genau zu sein, handelt es sich bei ihm um den etwas weniger im Rampenlicht stehenden Songwriting-Partner von niemand Geringerem, als Robbie Williams. Schon in jungen Jahren war Guy ständig von Musik umgeben. Sein Vater war Flötist im berühmten London Philharmonic Orchestra, seine Mutter war für das Decca-Plattenlabel tätig. Schon mit 5 Jahren konnte Guy Klavierspielen und komponierte seine ersten eigenen Stücke im Alter von 11. „Ich hatte einen großartigen Musiklehrer, dem auffiel, wie gerne ich improvisierte. Also spielte er mir Duke Ellington und Dave Brubeck vor.“ Mit 13 erlernte er außerdem noch das Gitarrenspiel und verdiente schon wenig später Geld in Coverbands sowie an den Wochenenden als Pianist in diversen Pubs und Clubs. Er schrieb sich an der Guildhall School Of Music ein und avancierte zum aller ersten festangestellten Pianisten im Groucho Club. Das Klavier war Guys erste wirkliche Liebe. „Das Klavier ist der König unter den Instrumenten. In Orchestern findet man es oft in der Percussion-Sektion, weil es sehr aggressiv sein kann. Jemand wie Little Richard zum Beispiel hat es als Teil der Rhythmussektion benutzt. Aber es verfügt auch über eine unglaublich poetische Seite. In melodischer und harmonischer Hinsicht bietet es alle Möglichkeiten. Dieses Instrument verfügt über so viele Klangfarben, dass es niemals langweilig wird.“ Guy Chambers verstärkte Julian Cope, Jimmy Nail und The Waterboys als Keyboarder auf Tour, bevor er 1986 Mitglied in Karl Wallingers World Party wurde.

The Salle des Etoiles, in a new seated concert setting, will be filled with the live music and unique sounds of his new album: “Swing Both Ways”. This new record features a mix of classic covers such as “Dream A Little Dream”, and new material, as well as duets with some of pop's biggest names, including Lily Allen, Michael Bublé, Kelly Clarkson, Olly Murs and Rufus Wainwright. It has also seen Robbie reunite with Guy Chambers, with whom he wrote 6 new songs, the latter having realized the album as well. Robbie recently explained his motivation behind the album, saying: “I wanted to do a swing album simply because it was a personal long-time wish. I always knew I'd do another and I think now is the perfect time to do it. All this show business amuses me, I’m in love with life, what I retain from my experience and my career, is this ceaseless need to create a real sensation every time I make an album. This time, it is an ode and a love move towards a time which I did not know, for not having grown up in it… I would so much have wanted to be there, it is a feeling always present in me.” He concludes by saying: “Hopefully I'm off to romance the world.” This tour will be a great chance for his public to rediscover this amazing artist! Ryan moved from Manchester to Brighton at the age of 17 on receiving a scholarship to study music. He went on to form and play in several bands, recording albums and touring all over the world. Performance highlights included opening two sell-out Hammersmith Apollo shows, Rock Am Ring and three tours of the US. After a period in Nashville, writing and working on new material, and realising that a solo career was not the direction for him, singer songwriter Ryan formed his band, The Vanguards, with CJ Evans, Dan Logan and Ben Johnsen. The band’s music has been compared to Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and Kodaline, but The Vanguards are set on printing their own contemporary stamp on a popular sound. The band is backed by Metropolis London Music, with the track produced and mixed by Guy Chambers’ right hand man Paul Stanborough (Katie Melua, Kylie, INXS), and mastered by Mazen Murad (The Rolling Stones, Muse, Björk). Ryan was chosen to front the new Guitar Hero Live game, released earlier this month. The game is a world first, using live action rather than computer graphics.
