ROBBIE WILLIAMS in Concert presents ROBBIE WILLIAMS in concert Saturday 31st May 2014 | 20h30 | Sporting Monte-Carlo As part of his European tour “Swings Both Ways Live”, Robbie Williams will be performing in Monaco on Saturday 31 st May 2014, for a unique concert. The Salle des Etoiles, in a new seated concert setting, will be filled with the live music and unique sounds of his new album: “Swing Both Ways”. This new record features a mix of classic covers such as “Dream A Little Dream”, and new material, as well as duets with some of pop's biggest names, including Lily Allen, Michael Bublé, Kelly Clarkson, Olly Murs and Rufus Wainwright. It has also seen Robbie reunite with Guy Chambers, with whom he wrote 6 new songs, the latter having realized the album as well. Robbie recently explained his motivation behind the album, saying: “I wanted to do a swing album simply because it was a personal long-time wish. I always knew I'd do another and I think now is the perfect time to do it. All this show business amuses me, I’m in love with life, what I retain from my experience and my career, is this ceaseless need to create a real sensation every time I make an album. This time, it is an ode and a love move towards a time which I did not know, for not having grown up in it… I would so much have wanted to be there, it is a feeling always present in me.” He concludes by saying: “Hopefully I'm off to romance the world.” This tour will be a great chance for his public to rediscover this amazing artist! The Sporting Monte-Carlo is the perfect place for this event. • The Barroom Door Swings Both Ways (09/17/20)
The Barroom Door Swings Both Ways (09/17/20) When I started practicing law, we brought many due process challenges to the actions of government. Due process is found in the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution. The Fourteenth Amendment, according to the United States Supreme Court jurisprudence imposed due process requirements on the states. An individual is entitled to a fair and impartial hearing from the government when the citizen is deprived of his or her rights. With the evolution of the law from the mid-1970s into the new century, due process was given less respect. Akin to due process is what is sometimes referred to in the law as “substantive” due process. This concept requires the government to act in a rational fashion, and to make decisions that have a discernible relationship to the issues confronting government. The courts routinely dismissed due process and rational relationship claims. The courts gave the government the benefit of a very high hurdle that no horse could jump. The courts said that government actions are “presumed” to be constitutional. It was necessary that there be proof of an intent to deprive a person of constitutional liberties. If the courts could find any articulable “rational relationship” between the harm and government action, the complaining citizen was thrown out of court. Successful due process and rational relationship substantive due process claims became rare. At the same time that hurdles to Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment claims were being erected, the First Amendment was being used to prevent the government from impinging upon the First Amendment religious rights of others.
