C. This Passover would be the last Passover approved by God 1. The Old Covenant is made obsolete by the New Covenant 2. The replacement for Passover is the Lord's Supper/Communion a. Every Passover celebration foreshadowed Jesus, the Lamb of God b. Jesus is OUR Passover Lamb c. Remembrance of the cross is to be done regularly by the church

II. The Treacherous Scheming of the Jewish Leaders Luke 22:2 2 The chief and the scribes were seeking how they might put Him to death; for they were afraid of the people.

A. The motivation for wanting to kill Jesus 1. Jesus was threatening the established Jewish religious system 2. Jesus' teaching was exposing the corruption of the Jewish religious system 3. Blaming the Jews for the cross ignores God's sovereignty, all are culpable.

B. The Jewish leaders feared to arrest Jesus while He was with people III.
