To obtain a building permit, environmental regulations, fire inspections or occupational licenses, contact applicable departments of government.

If your business is located within a city you will also need a city license. Be sure to contact the appropriate City Hall. If your industry is state-regulated, you will also need a state license.

Many businesses can benefit from a number of incentive programs available to businesses in designated geographic or industry sectors. Programs such as the Empowerment Zone and Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) are government programs that offer tax credits to businesses that meet the criteria.
