In the very first year of our existence, a number of construction and assembly departments, operations support facilities and social infrastructure (later expanded and improved considerably) were established and our main operations began. The first complex transport facilities we constructed in compliance with the most advanced technical standards of that time were commissioned in the early 1960s. This work was successfully continued in the following years. Our organization has constructed Vakhsh-Javanese and Obi-Kiikskiy hydraulic tunnels, tunnels in the Caucasus with a total length of over 40 km, as well as tens of kilometers of underground lines in Moscow with stations such as Barrikadnaya, Ulitsa 1905 Goda, Krylatskoe, Borovitskaya (the concourse) and many others. In 1986, a large team of professionals from our organization was involved in the post- accident cleanup at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Construction of transport facilities is One of the significant achievements of Transingstroy OJSC was the construction of the highest priority of Transingstroy ОJSC. the Park Pobedy – Strogino underground line in 2006-2008, where the world’s fastest tunneling speed was achieved and residue-free technology, a belt haulage system and a complete tunnel face integrity solution were first applied in our country. Transingstroy OJSC is currently finishing construction of the Maryino – Zyablikovo and Novogireevo – Novokosino lines of the Moscow Metro using the most advanced tunneling and construction equipment and technology. Transingstroy OJSC has built more than 100 apartment buildings in Odintsovo, Moscow Region for its employees and their families, dozens of schools and kindergartens, a city stadium, the Ice Palace (children’s center for hockey and figure skating), Clinical Hospital No. 123 of FMBA (the Federal Medical and Biological Agency) of Russia, cultural and sports centers, recreation centers, etc. Transingstroy OJSC regularly provides charity support to the Academy of Mining Sciences, the Miners’ Union of Russia, the Russian National Tunneling Association, healthcare and educational institutions, institutions of the Russian Orthodox Church and other religions, etc. Our company is currently on the rise; it has all the necessary production, technical and human resources and is ready to meet the most difficult challenges in its industry. Some of the buildings constructed by Transingstroy OJSC are shown in the photos. Ice Palace Clinical Hospital No. 123 with an outpatient clinic Lipki Sports Center for Culture and Recreation Transingstroy OJSC has robust operations support facilities including maintenance shops, a concrete plant, storage terminals with access roads and rail transport, a vast fleet of vehicles and machinery, etc. All of these allow us to solve industrial issues efficiently and promptly, without involving outside organizations, which saves time and money and ensures high quality of work. TRANSINGSTROY OPEN JOINT-STOCK COMPANY ANATOLIY ALEKSEEVICH GONCHAROV Chief Engineer of Transingstroy OJSC USSR Cabinet of Ministers Award Winner Honored Builder of the Russian Federation Member of the Academy of Mining Sciences Transingstroy Open Joint-Stock Company is one of the country’s largest and most qualified tunneling and construction organizations. In its activities, Transingstroy OJSC uses an innovative approach to dealing with management, technical and production issues and implements the latest engineering and technology achievements in its construction operations. A unique feature of the company is that it combines the functions of customer, general designer and general contractor. In recognition of the achievements in domestic and foreign practice of tunnel construction, as well as its own experience, Transingstroy OJSC has decided to apply a new, high-performance tunneling technology that permits construction of underground facilities in a very short time and in complex engineering and geological conditions that are highly variable along the tunnel route. The way to achieve this is to construct main line tunnels 6 meters in diameter using an earth pressure balance tunnel-boring machine with computer-controlled production operations (TBM) that, together with a waterproof face of high-precision concrete blocks with elastomeric gaskets in the joints, allows residue-free tunneling while retaining the natural stress-strain state of the soil body. This technology has made it possible, in particular, to adopt and implement a solution unique in its audacity (based on experience and accurate engineering calculations) for tunneling under the bed of the Moscow River, with a distance from the bottom of the river to the tunnels’ vault head of only about 9 meters. Similar tunneling operations were conducted twice in 2009 (during construction of the Maryino – Zyablikovo metro line) at the rate of 15 meters of finished tunnel per day, which is an all-time high in domestic tunneling practice. Transingstroy OJSC was the first company in the history of the Moscow Metro construction to solve the problem of winding the soil worked by TBM from the bottom to the surface using a belt conveyor instead of the traditional rail transport. Thanks to this solution, transport flows can be separated in the tunnel: tunnel facing blocks, piping components and other products can be delivered to the bottom by rail transport and soil can be wound to the surface independently, using belt conveyors. The TBM and conveyor transport system chosen and substantiated by our experts has proved its worth completely and made it possible to reach an all- time high tunneling speed of 704 meters of finished tunnel per month (during construction of the Park Pobedy – Strogino line). In the recent years, the scope of work and services performed and provided by Transingstroy OJSC has increased significantly, while the increase in manpower within the same period has been less considerable. Thus, the increase in the scope of work is mainly due to greater efficiency based on improved operations management and introduction of state-of-the-art tunneling and construction equipment. According to the world’s leading manufacturer of tunneling equipment, the German company Herrenknecht AG: “... Successful metro tunneling operations are solid evidence of your company’s strong positions in technology and management and put Transingstroy on par with the best tunnel builders by making a significant contribution to international best practices of transport tunnel construction. We are proud to be your partner...” Transingstroy OJSC ensures that its operations support facilities, including a fleet of vehicles and machinery with state-of-the-art equipment are always available and up-to-date, and is constantly expanding and improving its engineering and technical potential. TRANSINGSTROY OPEN JOINT-STOCK COMPANY The activities of any construction company, especially a company as large as Transingstroy OJSC, are highly diversified. They include engineering and technical issues, economics, science and technology problems, as well as social and HR issues. But, of course, all of it revolves around and for the benefit of the focal point, which is the manufacture of construction products. Deputy General Director Aleksandr Gennadyevich Manyukov, one of the country’s foremost experts in the field, is in charge of production activities at Transingstroy OJSC. TRANSINGSTROY OPEN JOINT-STOCK COMPANY A breakthrough is a major event during tunneling operations. It’s a special celebration for tunneling workers. Case Study Location: Moscow, Russia Product: Acom Zetron Moves Moscow Metro Forward Acom Supports Light-Rail Communications Expansion The Moscow Metro system has been moving passengers throughout Russia’s capital city since 1935. In recent years, the Moscow Metro network was extended outside of the city boundaries to the new urban development of Orekhovo-Borisovo- Severnoe in the south of Moscow. This light-rail line, known as the L19, runs from Ulitsa Starokachalovskaya to Bunninskaya Alleya. It is an extension of the longest line in the Metro network. Unlike the older parts of the Metro, this extension is entirely above ground. Moscow Metro often uses this extension to develop and test new technologies, such as those for lighting, seating, and communications. Once the technology has been refined and proven through this testing process, it is incorporated across the entire Moscow Metro system. The challenge When the time came for Moscow Metro to update the Supporting the system’s six sites communications system for the L19 Metro line, it chose RCI The communication system comprises six sites.
