1 The year 2012 can certainly be described as a year of great accomplishments, including the opening of new stations, reconstruction of existing facilities and metro technical systems. This year we have introduced a new section “Novogireevo” – “Novokosino” on the Kalininskaya line”, that allows now quick, convenient and reliable mode of transport to be provided to almost 200,000 inhabitants of the district. Besides, the metro map shows the long-awaited station ”Alma-Atinskaya” on the Zamoskvoretskaya line and the station “Pyatnitskoye shosse” in the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Foreword from the head line. The future of Moscow transport system is unthinkable without development of the metro, which plays a key role in the city’s public transport of Moscow Metro system. The Moscow Metro management carries out all the changes planned and appointed by the Moscow Government by paying as much attention to the demand of Muscovites and guests of the capital as possible. By 2020, 67 new stations are planned to be constructed. At present, we prioritize the construction of the Exterior interchange circuit line with the phased commissioning of line sections, the extension of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line from station “Maryina roshcha” to the northern areas of the city by 2015. Also the construction of the new Kozhukhovskaya line from the station “Aviamotornaya” to the station “Nekrasovka. By 2017, the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya line will be formed and operated between the station “Novokosino” and the districts, Solntsevo and Novo-Peredelkino. At the same time, the further development of material and technical base of the metro is provided, including the reconstruction of 9 existing depots and the construction of 8 new depots. One of the perspective infrastructure development directions for passenger comfort is the construction of park-and-ride facilities and transport interchange hubs near metro stations. According to the plans for the future development by 2020 the length of Moscow Metro network will increase by 145 km. We go forward and are not resting on our laurels. Thanks to the work of nearly 40 thousand workers of the metro, support by the Moscow Government and our strategic partners everyone will be able to see positive changes in the work of the largest transport system of the capital in the coming years. Our plans embrace large-scale construction, technical upgrading and improving the transportation safety on the metro. The coming years are the time of hard work, which promise to result the increase in quality and culture of passenger service.
