Por otro lado, la llegada de las compañías de bajo costo (Low Cost) a los países de Sudamérica ha generado un revuelo en la industria, obligando a las compañías aéreas a tomar nuevas estrategias e irse adaptando a los cambios para mantenerse dentro de la industria. En Chile, el transporte aéreo ha evolucionado fuertemente entre los años 1998 y 2016, ejemplo de esto ha sido evolución en términos de flota, las principales aerolíneas realizan cambio de aviones antiguos por nuevos (787-8/9, A320Neo), con mejor tecnología, menor consumo de combustible y menor emisión de dióxido de carbono. Por otro lado, evoluciones en términos de estrategias, como el cambio que experimentó Sky Airline de pasar a ser aerolínea de bajo coste, como también el cambio de Latam a un modelo de eficiencia, en que lanzó 4 tarifas para sus vuelos. Post: Santiago Section I. Market Summary The overall scenario appears highly favorable for the Chilean HRI Food Service sector. Chileans’ busier lifestyles, more working women, a growing middle class and higher disposable incomes were the main reasons for increased sales. Over the past five years the economic conditions of middle- and lower-income segments have been improving while poverty in Chile has been diminishing, so a growing number of Chileans can now pay for a wide range of services which had been out of their reach before, or were used only sporadically. This trend has been pushing the expansion of chain restaurants to mid-sized cities and to middle- and lower-income neighborhoods. Improvements in purchasing power in the middle class have encouraged the development of shopping centers, malls and strip centers nationwide, generating space for food services expansion in high-traffic locations. Chain-food services investors have made shopping centers, malls and strip centers a key part of their growth strategy. The leading food retailers, Cencosud (Jumbo and Santa Isabel supermarkets) and Wallmart (Lider supermarkets), invested in introducing self-service cafeterias, coffee shops and increasing their offering of take-away dishes.

Reviews shared on the Internet give key information about service quality and value as perceived by customers. To carry out the empirical study, we obtained the information available on TripAdvisor about airlines in Europe, the USA, Canada, and other countries in America, differentiating also between airlines that follow a low-cost strategy and those that do not apply it. The results show that there is a significant difference in key service quality variables between airlines in the different geographical areas studied on the one hand, and the low-cost strategy applied on the other. The variables to be used to conduct the positioning analysis in the airlines are determined. They also show that the methodology has relevant practical implications and provides tools to further develop research related to the online reputation and strategic positioning of airlines.
