A charity piano concert organized by our Club at the Salle Garnier of the Monte-Carlo Opera with Maestro Josef Bulva, under the High Patronage of Prince Albert II 2. A dinner following the concert, in honor of Maestro Josef Bulva Sunday 10th May 2020 3. The Monaco Historic Grand Prix from the VIP Grandstand rented in collaboration with the German Bentley Owners Club (alternatively, we will also organize tickets on the Casino grandstand of the course. Reception organized by the CAI with cocktail and dinner at the Yacht Club de Monaco with the members of the German Bentley Owners Club Benefit piano concert, organized by the CAI in favor of Monegasque institutions Under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II Maestro Josef Bulva plays Beethoven, Liszt and Martinu Saturday 9th May 2020 7.30 p.m. Garnier Hall of the Monte-Carlo Opera The CAI has rented the Salle Garnier of the Monte-Carlo Opera and is organizing with our member and famous pianist, Maestro Josef Bulva, and generous sponsors a piano concert on the evening of Saturday 9th May. Three wonderful masterpieces requiring the highest technical and pianistic professionalism will be played: Bohuslav Martinu: Piano sonata (H350) Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano sonata no. 21 opus 53 "Waldsteinsonate" Franz Liszt: Piano sonata in B minor (s 178) The benefit of the evening will be donated to the Rainier III Music Academy, which depends on the City of Monaco and for which Princess Caroline has the High Patronage. CAI members and friends are encouraged to come in large numbers. Those who wish can also make further donations. Biography of Maestro Josef Bulva Josef Bulva was born on 9th January 1943 in Brno in the Czech Republic. He was just thirteen years old when he stood out for his interpretations of Paganini's Variations, Brahms and Liszt's concertos for piano. Due to his talent, Josef Bulva became the protege of the Party and was then named "State Soloist". In 1971, a terrible mountain accident interrupted his musical activity. Restored in 1972, he emigrated to the West and became a citizen of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. For his artistic residency, he chose Munich, the capital of Bavaria. Large international concert halls and recording studios opened their doors to him and his fame continued to grow. In 1996, he fell on ice and seriously injured his left hand and had to abandon the world of music. He then moved to Monaco where he devoted himself to other activities. Around 2003 he resumed discreetly, but with the same requirement as fifty years earlier, his pianistic practice under the direction of Professor Beat Simmen from Zürich, and, finally, started playing again. In 2010 the famous piano manufacturer Steinway announced: "Our artist is back". RCA then asked his former artist to resume their cooperation. Different TV channels make films and documentaries. The press once again praises the unique sound and amazing technique of Josef Bulva, "Pianist among pianists". Dinner in honor of Maestro Josef Bulva Hotel Hermitage, Salon Excelsior Saturday 9th May 2020, 9.45 p.m. Following the concert, you can join a dinner in honor of Maestro Josef Bulva, which will also be attended by Monegasque and German personalities. This dinner will take place at the Hermitage Hotel. Some members of the Bentley Owners Club will also be present. 12th Edition of the Monaco Historic Grand Prix In collaboration with the Bentley Owner’s Club VIP Classic Club grandstands Sunday 10th May 2020 (or Saturday 9th May 2020 as option) We will have the opportunity to follow the Monaco Historic Grand Prix on the VIP Classic Club grandstands of the course, in the space reserved by the German Bentley Owners Club. Indeed, the CAI and the Bentley Owners Club have decided to get to know each other better and join their strength during this exceptional weekend. Several passengers of the luxury sailboat Sea Cloud 1, which some of us had the opportunity to visit in 2018 in the port of Nice, will also attend. For those who wish to follow the races only on Saturday, or both days, corresponding tickets will also be made available. The CAI will also reserve tickets if necessary on the stands of the Casino, for those who do not wish to join the VIP Club Classic Stand, but simply wish to follow the Sunday races. This 12th edition of the Monaco Historic Grand Prix will have as novelty this year, the re-nomination of the seven series, previously just named by a letter of the alphabet, with the name of a driver who marked the era of the cars of the series concerned. In total, more than 220 Grand Prix and Sports cars, selected for their historical interest and their degree of authenticity, will be expected on the legendary circuit of the Principality of Monaco to compete in real races. • Celebrate Beethoven Catalogue Ludwig Van Beethoven (1770–1827)
CELEBRATE BEETHOVEN CATALOGUE LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN (1770–1827) Born in Bonn in 1770, the eldest son of a singer in the Kapelle of the Archbishop-Elector of Cologne and grandson of the Archbishop’s Kapellmeister, Beethoven moved in 1792 to Vienna. There he had some lessons from Haydn and others, quickly establishing himself as a remarkable keyboard player and original composer. By 1815 increasing deafness had made public performance impossible and accentuated existing eccentricities of character, patiently tolerated by a series of rich patrons and his royal pupil the Archduke Rudolph. Beethoven did much to enlarge the possibilities of music and widen the horizons of later generations of composers. To his contemporaries he was sometimes a controversial figure, making heavy demands on listeners by both the length and the complexity of his writing, as he explored new fields of music. Beethoven’s monumental contribution to Western classical music is celebrated here in this definitive collection marking the 250th anniversary of the composer’s birth. ThisCELEBRATE BEETHOVEN catalogue contains an impressive collection of works by this master composer across the Naxos Music Group labels.
