NJTV’S IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD AUGUST 2017 IS READY FOR SUN AND SAND

eady for a trip to the Jersey shore? NJTV is heading to Asbury Park for its next stop in its In Your Neighborhood initiative road tour. Viewers can tune in for a full evening of live and special local programming dedicated to that city on August 30, including a live broadcast from around the Boardwalk and beyond.

“Asbury Park in the summer is an iconic New Jersey destination and an ideal location for our next RIn Your Neighborhood visit,” said NJTV General Manager John Servidio. “This city has been evolving and has so many stories to tell, from business development and education to its arts and music legacy and more. We’re excited to present its many facets to the state.”

NJTV In Your Neighborhood: Asbury Park, a live program broadcast from locations across the city, begins at 6:00PM, following a special on-location edition of the network’s newscast NJTV News with Mary Alice Williams at 5:30PM. The evening’s Asbury-centric line-up includes Here’s The Story: The Asbury (8PM) (bottom right), a profile of the first new hotel in Asbury Park in 60 years and how its presence may encourage prosperity for the boardwalk town.

Music fans will tune in for Driving Jersey: Stone Pony (8:30PM), a look at the legendary music venue during a battle of the bands competition, and Front and Center: Southside Johnny (9PM) (bottom left), a staple in Jersey’s music scene, having released 12 studio albums since 1976 and featuring a rotating group of members like Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi and Steve Van Zandt. In addition to the on-air broadcast, NJTV will also host a community forum in Asbury Park to dig deeper into the issues facing the community.

NJTV In Your Neighborhood is a thought-provoking and informative combination of news, special programming JIM BELMONT and community engagement events, using on-air and digital platforms and special events to showcase some AIRS WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30 FROM 5:30PM – 11PM of the Garden State’s most dynamic places.
