Introduction and welcome The Rally Terra da Auga reaches its 8th edition after a difficult year due to the social helth situation, but with a newest illusion in order to face a new challenge: getting up the international status and the FIA European pre-inspection. This requieres a major structural transformation, in which the Service Park moved to Amio Fairground at Santiago de Compostela, the galizian capital where is planned the protocolary ceremony and the arrival and Prize Giving. Nevertheless, the rally itinerary consolidate its placement in the zone of Arzúa (where is placed the Official Start), Boimorto, Boqueixón, O Pino and Touro. Regarding the colaboration of these Councils, Diputación Provincial de A Coruña, the Sporting General Secretariat of Xunta de Galicia and the Consejo Superior de Deportes (maximium sporting authority in Spain) through the Real Federación Española de Automovilismo, in the adittion of new companies that lend us their trust as partners, we can keep this projet alive. With them, as always, the invaluable colaboration of the Civil Protection services and the indispensables volunteers and marshalls of the event, we continue trying to add effectives with the effort of a lot of motor clubs. Our objective is to conquer a motorsport event in which all the people feel like at home, but with the máximum socio-sanitary security measures. Participants will carry out the reconnaissances following the order of the assigned stages -with the exception of the shakedown for those entered in it- with the only time limitation of the general start and finish times. The groups for the day on Friday will be formed by dividing the participating vehicles according to the number assigned on the entry list and their participation in the promotion cups. The máximum speed during reconnaissance of special stages is fixed at 50 Km/h. 9. La manifestación pública del poder que poseen las elites locales en los dominios de la Monarquía Hispánica durante la Época Moderna, contribuyó decisivamente a la perpetuación del status social de sus integrantes. Los hidalgos conforman en esta época histórica una elite local con un gran poder económico, social y político en Galicia. Así que, a pesar de los diferentes niveles de riqueza que presentan quienes han accedido a la hidalguía, este sector nobiliario heterogéneo también se valió de dichas manifestaciones públicas del poder a la hora de reforzar su status. Éstas llevan implícito un contenido simbólico elaborado a partir de señas de identidad y hábitos de conducta con un marcado carácter propagandístico, reconocibles por la sociedad que los ha generado y que se emplean diariamente en distintos contextos, para identificar a una minoría social poderosa frente a la mayoría que carece de poder. APUNTES BIOGRÁFICOS DE UN SACERDOTE EUMÉS Carlos García Cortés Entre los doce hijos notables de Pontedeume, cuya biografía desarrolla Couceiro Freijomil en el apéndice de su conocida historia de esta villa, el ilustre eumés incluye la de cinco persona- jes que siguieron la carrera eclesiástica, dos de ellos tan famosos como los arzobispos composte- lanos Francisco de Seijas Losada y Bartolomé Rajoy Losada 1. Precisamente sobre otro de esos cinco, Pedro Hombre Varela, que ejerció como canónigo de la catedral jacobea los últimos veinte años de su vida y favoreció testamentariamente a su villa natal con diversas mandas y una bien capitalizada fundación piadosa, tuve ocasión de publicar hace tres años un pequeño estudio en esta misma revista 2. En este artículo voy a proseguir en el intento de ofrecer al lector algunas otras biografías, sin duda de menor ejecutoria que las recogidas por Couceiro, de hijos de Pontedeume que llegaron a alcanzar algún relieve dentro del mundo eclesiástico de su época. Es el caso de la que aporto hoy aquí, correspondiente a José Jacinto del Río López, sobrino carnal del citado canónigo Hombre Varela y precisamente su cumplidor testamentario, que ostentaría durante muchos años una cape- llanía en la villa eumesa, muriendo como rector de una de las cuatro parroquias que tenía entonces la capital coruñesa. La relevancia menor que tuvo este personaje, incluso dentro de la institución eclesiástica, ha limitado mi acceso a diversos aspectos de su biografía, la cual no cuenta con gran respaldo docu- mental, o al menos así me lo ha parecido tras la pertinente investigación realizada.
