As a result of your performance in the Entrance Examination into Air Force Comprehensive School Kano, I am pleased to inform you that you are invited to attend a selection interview at the school beginning from 04 – 08 August 2014. The interview will involve written and oral examinations. The written test will be conducted on 6 August 2014. 2. You will stay in the school throughout the duration of the interview, which may last up to 8 August 2014. You are expected to bring along the following items: a. This letter of invitation for interview. b. Three Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N3,500:00) only as boarding and interview fees. c. Photocopy and original of your birth certificate or declaration of age. d. POR publication in respect of your birth (candidates of military parentage only). e. Testimonial certificate as evidence of completion of primary 6. f. Candidate’s recent passport photograph. g. Biro, pencil, and eraser. h. One blanket and one bed sheet. i. Tooth brush and paste. j. Plastic cup and plate. k. Cutlery. 3. All candidates are expected to take care of their personal belongings. Any candidate caught cheating or stealing items belonging to other candidates will be disqualified. 4. The registration number after your name above is your examination number for this interview. I wish you good luck during the interview exercise. 5.     HOW TO SET UP AND MANAGE A COMMUNITY JOURNALISM NETWORK Implemented by Adam Smith International 1 How to Set Up and Manage a Community Journalism Network Preface Nigeria is blessed with numerous media organisations (though analysts are still asking for more), from the print – newspapers, magazines and other periodicals to broadcast – radio, television, satellite stations and online media. As of November 2016, there were over three hundred radio stations, one hundred television stations, thirty Internet radio stations, six international broadcasters across Nigeria and still counting. There were also sixty-six newspapers and magazines across the country during the same period1 Nigeria also enjoys relative freedom of the press when compared with some other African, Asian, Caribbean or even European countries. However, ninety per cent of Nigeria’s media spread are in the urban centres, leaving the remaining ten per cent to the semi urban fringes, with virtually no newspaper, radio or television station located in any remote, rural village. The implication of this, is that news coverage, programme focus, analyses and general perspectives on issues centre on the urban and semi urban areas, leaving the rural settlers, who contributed a chunk of Nigeria’s population with neither a voice nor fair representation in the media. This is what led to the community journalism initiative. Fifty-seven years ago, precisely 1963, the late Grandfather of Emir Sanusi, Alhaji Sir Muhammadu Sanusi, was also dethroned by the Premier of Northern Region and Sardauna of Sokoto, Sir Ahmadu Bello, according to the history, the late Sanusi and the premier were reportedly best of friends before things went bad in their relationship. However, in 1963, the friendship had collapsed as Bello's government probed, dethroned and eventually banished the late Sanusi to Azare in 1963 where he later died.
