Doctor of (Ed.D.) Program Educational Innovation Our Doctor of Education program in Educational Innovation is designed for practitioners who work in varied educational settings. It prepares educators to identify problems of practice, lead effectively in the teaching and learning environment, to advocate for solutions to problems, to foster innovation, and to be responsive to the evolving expectations placed upon educational systems. Based on the Carnegie Project on the Educational (CPED) principles, the 55-hour program of study includes 19 hours of core coursework, 9 hours in a concentration of choice (see list of 21 concentrations available), 12 hours in research, and 15 hours of capstone/dissertation in practice. Students progress through the program as a cohort, and courses are taught face-to-face over six weekends each semester.

Overview of Admission Requirements Application Deadline: November 2nd

Minimum GPA of 3.0 at the graduate level. Competitive applicants will have a minimum 3.5 GPA at GPA the graduate level. Minimum of a Master's degree from an accredited program and an accredited college or Minimum Degree university. Recommendations (which include a reference form and letter of recommendation) from three individuals who can specifically address the applicant’s professional experience and potential for success in the doctoral program are required. The Admission Committee recommends that one References letter be from a university faculty member addressing the applicants past academic success in a graduate level program. Letters should address the candidate’s academic abilities as well as his or her potential as educational scholarly practitioners. In accordance with Board of Regents Policy 4.1.6, all applicants for admission to Augusta University are required to provide validation of lawful presence in the United States. Acceptance Proof of Lawful to the Augusta University is conditional until lawful presence is verified.
