In the past year we celebrated the 75th anniversary of Moscow metro, opened several stations, made technical improvements and continued restoration of historical stations. SPACE DEBRIS MITIGATION Workshop 26-27 April 2010 Moscow, Russian Federation Organized by with the support of Workshop Background and Objectives The International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) is an international organization based in Moscow. During its fifteen years of work experience it has funded quite a substantial number of projects in the area of space technologies. The Center has been asked to further pay attention to the matter of “Space Debris”. The issue is of increasing importance and requires efforts worldwide. Therefore ISTC decided to organize an International workshop on this subject at its Headquarters in Moscow. This decision has been taken after consultations with ROSCOSMOS, the Russian Academy of Sciences and various other partners. The threat of an increasing technogenic contamination is growing. The space debris problem has many aspects that need to be discussed and regulated. The Workshop is focusing only "big size man-made debris" as separated parts of launches, boost-stages and others. The objective is to discuss from proposals on how to prevent an increasing of the number of big debris and how deal with existing ones. The Workshop aims to unite the international knowledge, experience, efforts and resources to develop effective scientific approaches and technologies to make our planet and near-Earth space a more secure. The following topics will be discussed: • Overview of the problem; • An operational concept and acquired experience on space debris decrease; • Ways, plans and developments of means/vehicles for debris removal from near-Earth space; • Propulsion installations for debris removal from near-Earth space. The meeting will be closed with a round table discussion. -

International airport Sheremetyevo – Hotel «Cosmos» From Sheremetyevo International airport (SVO) there are 2 ways to get to the hotel: 1) By taxi : 1 hour – 90 minutes, depending on a traffic 2) By aero express train (40 minutes) + metro (30 minutes) + walking (10 minutes) Taxi: This is the easiest way but it’s more expensive than the train + metro if you’re travelling alone (if there are 2 or 3 of you the difference won’t be that much). The cost of the trip shouldn’t be more than 1500 Russian Rubles (≈ 20 €). Just say or show the driver the address of the hotel – “prospect Mira, 150” (you may want to print it out in Russian in advance): Проспект Мира, 150, гостиница «Космос» . Aero express train to the city center. The Aero express train platform is easily accessible from any Terminal of the airport. The sign for the aero express train in the airport is - You can also buy a aero express train ticket in advance for the date of your arrival, and it doesn’t have to be for a specific time. This is available from the website https://aeroexpress.ru/en - in this case you can print out the ticket or simply scan the bar code from the screen of your phone to get to the departure platform. Otherwise you can buy a ticket from the machine for 420 Russian Rubles (≈ 6 €). The trains depart every 30 minutes: from 05:00 a.m. till 00:30 a.m. There’s only one route available: Sheremetyevo airport – Belorusskiy railway station. -

This year we have introduced a new section “Novogireevo” – “Novokosino” on the Kalininskaya line”, that allows now quick, convenient and reliable mode of transport to be provided to almost 200,000 inhabitants of the district. Besides, the metro map shows the long-awaited station ”Alma-Atinskaya” on the Zamoskvoretskaya line and the station “Pyatnitskoye shosse” in the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Foreword from the head line. The future of Moscow transport system is unthinkable without development of the metro, which plays a key role in the city’s public transport of Moscow Metro system. The Moscow Metro management carries out all the changes planned and appointed by the Moscow Government by paying as much attention to the demand of Muscovites and guests of the capital as possible. By 2020, 67 new stations are planned to be constructed. At present, we prioritize the construction of the Exterior interchange circuit line with the phased commissioning of line sections, the extension of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line from station “Maryina roshcha” to the northern areas of the city by 2015. Also the construction of the new Kozhukhovskaya line from the station “Aviamotornaya” to the station “Nekrasovka. By 2017, the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya line will be formed and operated between the station “Novokosino” and the districts, Solntsevo and Novo-Peredelkino. -
