Good sportsmanship is to prevail at all times. Any questions concerning these rules should be directed to Coach Goz at [email protected] 850-270-3469. Teams will be placed into divisions based upon their age. SCHEDULE CHANGES : It is the responsibility of the team’s captain or coordinator to check the website www.bstcsoccer.com and emails from [email protected] and call the rain-out hotline (786) 309-4482 to check for schedule changes. NUMBER OF PLAYERS : 5 is the maximum roster size for a team. This will consist of 3 field players and 2 substitutes. A team must have a minimum of 2 field players at all times. Players may only play on 1 team per division. There are NO goalkeepers in this 3v3 event. Substitutions are on the fly but must happen from the midfield line. PLAYER REGISTRATION : All players must be registered and paid before the start of the event. After this point, no roster changes are permitted. UNIFORMS/PROTECTIVE CASTS : All players must wear jerseys/shirts during play and each team must have a dark and light colored jersey/shirt. In the case of both teams wearing the same color jersey/shirt, a coin toss will decide which team alters their uniform. No hard casts, jewelry except medical alert tags, or eyeglasses will be allowed. Sport goggles are allowed. TOURNAMENT EQUIPMENT : Shin guards are mandatory and will be checked prior to play. Ball size is as follows: U6-U8 = Size 3, U10-U12 = Size 4. Teams are responsible for providing game balls. Every player must bring water. FIELD DIMENSIONS : For all age divisions the field size will be 35 yards long by 25 yards wide. The goal box is 10 feet wide by 6 feet long positioned directly in front of the goal. The goals are 4 feet high by 8 feet wide. There is NO ball contact allowed within the goal box, however all players are allowed to pass through the goal box as long as they do not touch the ball while in the box. If the ball comes to rest within the goal box, a goal kick is awarded regardless of who touched the ball last. Any part of the ball or player’s body on the line or inside the plane of the box is considered in the goal box and an extension of such. *If a defensive player touches the ball after it has entered this plane, a goal will be awarded to the offensive team. *If an offensive player touches the ball after it has entered this plane, a goal kick will be awarded to the defensive team. GOAL SCORING : A goal may only be scored from a touch (offensive or defensive) within the team’s offensive half of the field. The ball must be completely on the offensive half of the field, and cannot be touching the mid-line (kick-off). If a player in their defensive half kicks the ball across the midline and the ball hit another player, offensive or defensive, and the ball goes in the goal, a goal will be awarded. If a ball is kicked from the defensive half and is not touched before the ball rests in the goal, a goal kick is awarded to the defensive team. GAME DURATION : The game shall consist of 4 (12) minutes halves separated by a 2 minute break, and 5 minute halftime, or the first team to reach 12 goals, whichever occurs first. A coin toss will determine direction and possession before the start of the game. Games that end in a “tie” at the end of regulation play will be termed a “tie”, except in the finals. There are no timeouts and the game clock does not stop. The on field referee will be responsible for the official time. SUBSTITUTIONS : Substitutions are allowed during dead-ball situations regardless of ball possession. Teams must gain the referees attention and all players must enter/exit at mid-field. OFFSIDES/SLIDE TACKLING : There are no offsides in 3v3 soccer. If a player slides, no body contact is allowed. If there is contact, a free kick is awarded. This does not stop a player from sliding in order to stop a ball where body contact is not initiated during the slide. Intentional slide tackling that can injury another player will result in a red card. This will be determined by the game referee. KICK OFF : This may be taken in either direction. As previously mentioned, you can not score from a kick off. KICK INS : When the ball is out of bounds over a side line, a kick in, and not a throw in will, be awarded. DIRECT/INDIRECT KICKS : All dead ball kicks (kick ins, kick offs, free kicks are considered INDIRECT. Corner kicks and penalty kicks will be deemed DIRECT KICKS. GOAL KICKS : Can be taken from any point on the end line. PENALTY KICKS : Will be awarded if the referee deems a scoring opportunity was nullified by an infraction. Penalty kicks will be taken from the center of the mid field line with all other players behind the mid field line. If a goal is not scored, the defensive team will take possession with a goal kick. A current field player and not a substitute must take the penalty kick.

    FUTSAL GUIDE INTRODUCTION TO FUTSAL FUTSAL was first played in 1885. Roger Grain in Montevideo, Uruguay defined the modern standard set of rules in 1932. FUTSAL’s essential elements consist of five players a side on a basketball size court with a variety of surfaces using a no-bounce ball. The sport is a great skill developer, demanding quick reflexes, fast thinking, and pinpoint passing. The no-bounce ball requires players to propel the ball using skill and the proper technique, rather than rely on the bounce of the ball. The priority in FUTSAL is to motivate players in a safe environment conducive to learning. The more pleasure kids derive from their participation, the more they wish to play and practice on their own. While their instinct to play is natural, their affection and appreciation for FUTSAL must be cultivated. FUTSAL is a great developer of such skills as: x Stop and go x Ball control x Quick feet x Dribbling x Shooting skill and power x Strategy and tactics x Individual and team play x Fair play FUTSAL: x Allows players numerous opportunities to frequently touch the one "toy" on the field, namely, the ball. x Presents many opportunities to score goals and score goals often. x Encourages regaining possession of the ball as a productive, fun and rewarding part of the game (defending). x Maximizes active participation and minimizes inactivity and boredom. x Eliminates complicated rules such as offsides that may hinder youngsters from "playing" and learning. x Allows the game to be the teacher! In Latin America and many countries in Europe, FUTSAL is second only to soccer as the most played sport.

De abordagem qualitativa, se utilizou questionários e for- mação de grupos focais para a coleta dos dados. Os resultados foram organizados em quatro categorias de discussão: i) “significado de ser jovem”,ii) “significação da escola na vida dos jovens”, iii) “significado do futebol na vida dos jovens” e iv) “jovens, pro- jetos de vida, crenças e desejos sobre o futuro”. Os participantes apontaram a escola como base em seus futuros, legitimando o cumprimento do ciclo regular na ideia de ser “alguém na vida”. Somado a isso, o futebol foi significado como modo de socialização, paixão, lazer e sonho, sendo visto como possibilidade de valorização pessoal, social e financeira, embora deflagrada a dificuldade de tal desejo ser sustentável em relação a crença dos próprios jovens. Milby 2006 ABSTRACT Soccer playing style has not been addressed in detail in the academic literature, as playing style has often been dismissed as the aesthetic element of the game. Brief mention of playing style is considered when discussing national identity and gender. Through a literature research methodology and detailed study of game situations, this dissertation addresses a definitive definition of playing style and details the cultural elements that influence it. A case study analysis of German and Brazilian soccer exemplifies how cultural elements shape, influence, and intersect with playing style. Eight signature elements of playing style are determined: tactics, technique, body image, concept of soccer, values, tradition, ecological and a miscellaneous category. Each of these elements is then extrapolated for Germany and Brazil, setting up a comparative binary. Literature analysis further reinforces this contrasting comparison. Both history of the country and the sport history of the country are necessary determinants when considering style, as style must be historically situated when being discussed in order to avoid stereotypification. Historic time lines of significant German and Brazilian style changes are determined and interpretated.

    History of Futsal About US Futsal The origin of Futsal (Five-a-Side Soccer) can be traced back to Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1930 when Juan Carlos Ceriani devised a five-a-side version of soccer for youth competion in YMCAs. The game is played on basketball-sized courts, both indoors and out without the use of sidewalls. The term FUTSAL is the international term used for the game. It is derived from the Spanish or Portuguese word for "soccer"-- FUTbol or FUTebol, and the French or Spanish word for "indoor" -- SALon or SALa. The term was adopted by U.S. Futsal since it includes the initials "fUtSAl" (USA). The term was trademarked in the United States after U.S. Futsal changed its corporate name within the state of California. The game is frequently referred to as Five-A-Side or Mini-soccer. Once Ceriani got the ball rolling, Futsal gained rapid popularity throughout South America, particularly in Brazil. The skill developed in this game is visible in the world-famous style the Brazilians display outdoors on the full-sized field. Pele, Zico, Socrates, Bebeto and other Brazilian superstars developed their skill playing Futsal. While Brazil continues to be the Futsal hub of the world, the game is now played, under the auspices of FIFA, all over the world, from Europe to North and Central America and the Caribbean, South America, Africa, and Asia and Oceania. The first international competition took place in 1965, when Paraguay won the first South American Cup. Six more South American Cups were held through 1979, with Brazil winning all of them.

Ashton 2009 Abstract This investigation serves to demonstrate the multifaceted connection that the sport of fútbol has with certain aspects of Spanish society, namely, this cultural phenomenon’s long relationship with Spanish politics, literature and film. Since the formation of Spain’s very first club teams, the sport of fútbol has always demonstrated a strong connection with Spain’s historical socio-political disputes. These disputes have become essential elements in making up the very fabric of Spain and range from questions of nationhood, to questions of identity, culture, politics, ideologies and economy. Throughout this study, I address the dispute that has been taking place between the intellectual classes and the fútboling community and defend that although the relationship between intellectuals and fútbol has not been as public as fútbol’s relationship to politics, it has however existed throughout the entire history of the sport. Many intellectuals have deemed the sport of fútbol as an unsuitable topic for intellectual areas such as literature and artistic mediums like film. In this study, I uncover that some of Spain’s most highly praised literary figures had a passion for the sport which they alluded to, sometimes on numerous occasions, as central themes in their work.

Astronomical salaries, sponsorships pompous and influence in the media are major world figures. Their habits, tastes and preferences are diffused and imitated by fans everywhere. To give relevance and resonance to the actions of these personalities, the media produces, by scheduling the news in order to maintain visibility of the athlete, through essays, reports or articles. The sports field, especially soccer, is occupying large spaces in world society. According Mezzaroba and Pires (2010, p.125), "the sport exerts fascination in people (...) it is important to consider the aesthetic enchantment produced by the sports performance, with his speeches, images and sounds, expert opinions and also the publicity involved in this new marketing product that is spectacularized sport.” It is worth mentioning that the media directly influences the construction of idols. Through dissemination of information, tastes, behavior of these personalities, people are induced to use and do the same things as different haircuts among others. In this context of sports journalism, then, focuses on the Brazilian player Neymar Jr., who works in Barcelona, Spain team. The player is the focus of national and international news, whether print, portals and other media, hence it is the target in this study.
