    CARACTERIZAÇÃO HIDROQUÍMICA DO SISTEMA AQUÍFERO DOS GABROS DE BEJA Jorge DUQUE(1) ; Carlos ALMEIDA(2) RESUMO O Sistema Aquífero dos Gabros de Beja constitui uma das origens de água mais importantes do Alentejo, pois, além de ser caracterizado por uma produtividade relativamente elevada, situa-se numa região de grande potencialidade agrícola, onde as culturas de regadio têm vindo a assumir uma importância crescente. As actividades agrícolas interferem directamente na degradação da qualidade química da água subterrânea, nomeadamente através da contaminação difusa por nitratos. Neste trabalho caracteriza-se o Sistema Aquífero dos Gabros de Beja em termos de qualidade da água subterrânea, sublinhando-se alguns aspectos particulares. As águas são bastante mineralizadas, apresentando uma fácies tipicamente bicarbonatada calco-magnesiana, sendo a qualidade deficiente para consumo humano devido, apresentar concentrações elevadas de nitratos, magnésio, sódio, etc. A sua utilização para regadio poderá ser condicionada devido a poder originar problemas de salinização dos solos. Em alguns sectores observa-se a ocorrência de sobressaturação em calcite das águas o que origina a precipitação daquele mineral em captações e sistemas de rega e está na origem de depósitos denominados por caliços. Nº 1. 2017 ESTRATÉGIAS DE POVOAMENTO ENTRE O BRONZE PLENO E FINAL NA REGIÃO DE BEJA Miguel Serra1 Eduardo Porfírio2 Resumo A região de Beja foi cenário de inúmeros trabalhos arqueológicos nos últimos 10 anos que têm revolucionado o nosso conhecimento sobre as formas de ocupação deste território durante a pré-história recente. Os novos dados, maioritariamente oriundos da “arqueologia preventiva”, permitem traçar um cenário mais complexo sobre o povoamento entre o Bronze Pleno e o Bronze Final. O Bronze Pleno é marcado por ocupações de planície sem preocupações defensivas localizadas em zonas de grande potencial agrícola nas proximidades de cursos de água secundários. No Bronze Final evidencia-se uma hierarquização assente na variabilidade, surgindo povoados fortificados em altura, outros localizados em zonas de controlo de vias fluviais, com ou sem muralhas, e alguns povoados de planície que mantêm as mesmas caraterísticas do período anterior. The new data, mostly coming from rescue archaeology, help to establish a more complex framework about the settlement strategies of the Middle and Late Bronze ages.
