Day 1: Piombino - Baratti &- San Vincenzo Morning visit of Piombino, located on the southern end of the homonymous promontory, a seaside town with very ancient classical and medieval origins, inherited from Populonia, an Etruscan homeland of metallurgy, and from the maritime republic of Pisa.

PIOMBINO:Stretching out into the sea, Piombino is a town with a rich history and a wealth of safeguarded natural environments. The historic centre is a must for anybody visiting the area, a fine testimonial of the past and of its ancient splendour. It’s a pleasure to stroll down the old alleyways and along the panoramic streets, rediscovering the medieval and renaissance past.

The tour proceeds towards Populonia for a short visit.

POPULONIA:The medieval village of Populonia is located in a beautiful position overlooking the Tuscan coast. The village is characterized by the presence of an Appiani castle dominated by a quadrangular fortress

and a large semicircular tower. Inside the castle it is possible to visit the

13th century Pisan tower and a private museum, where Etruscan and Roman remains are visible.

When finished, you return to the Gulf of Baratti for lunch in a particolar Location. Day 2: Campiglia Marittima – San Vincenzo – marina di Castagneto Carducci After breakfast departure in direction Campiglia Marittima and visit of The Archaelogical Mines Park of San Silvestro

ARCHEOLOGICAL MINES PARK OF SAN SILVESTRO: Situated behind Campiglia Marittima and the promontory of Piombino, it covers 450 hectares, and it contains unique examples of the mining and

metallurgical cycle, from the Etruscan era to the present day. The routes

for visiting encompass museums, mining tunnels, a Medieval village of miners and foundrymen founded around one thousand years ago (Rocca San Silvestro) and paths of historical, archaeological, geological and naturalistic interest. The Museum of Archaeology and Minerals, located in the Ticket Office building, houses an exhibition of useful minerals and rocks of the Campigliese and the display of some exhibits found during the digs of Rocca San Silvestro.

At the end of the visit, transfer to San Vincenzo and stroll along the ‘walk of the sailor’

WALK OF THE SAILOR:We will walk through the rocks, starting from piazza Unità d’Italia. It will take us directly at the bottom of the feet of the

statue. Those feet are immersed in a tub in which sometimes people

throw their coins because it is considered lucky, as if it was a fountain. You will feel as though you are in the middle of the sea and the more you move away from the coast the more you can enjoy the stunning view of San Vincenzo from the water.

We will then have light lunch in a local restaurant with fish specialities

The beach is just a few steps away from the Resort, and is characterized by the "tomboli", typical sand dunes of the area.
