A joint assessment team consisting of IOM, WFP, IRC and ANDMA conducted assessment on 20 April and found 360 displaced families in need of humanitarian assistance. IOM distributed family module, blankets, solar, winter modules and tarpaulins on 22 April. WFP distribut- ed food items and IRC distributed family tents and Latrine while UNICEF distributed hygiene kits. In a separate incident, as per the report obtained from district authorities, 25 families were reportedly affected by flood in Chesht district on 17 April. ANDMA verified the caseload while the areas is insecure and the team can not access the affected area. ANDMA is coordinating with district authorities, the assessment team will be mobilized once the areas is secured for assessment. Badghis: As a result of flood on 17 April, 35 families were reportedly affected in Moqar and Bala Morghab districts. The areas is inaccessible due to security concerns. ANDMA has re- quested DDMC to conduct assessment and share the findings of the assessment. Badakhshan: As reported by ANDMA, six families were affected by heavy rainfall in Faizabad on 08 April. A joint assessment team consisting of IOM and ANDMA initiated assessment. Five family were found eligible for humanitarian assistance. IOM distributed family module, blankets and emergency shelter and solar lanterns while ANDMA covered food needs of the affected families. In a separated incident, reportedly 100 families were affected by heavy rainfall in Faizabad that was received through petition from the affected families. The petitions are un- der review by the PDMC members, an assessment team will be stablished verify the needs of the affected families following a coordination meeting. Faryab: As per the initial report obtained from ANDMA, 120 families were reportedly affected by heavy rainfall in Ghormach district. The caseload not confirmed by government offi- cials, the districts I insecure and can not be accessed by humanitarian partners. ANDMA is verifying the caseload, the findings will be shared with the partners. Natural Disasters Update: Contin... Nangrahar: As per the initial report obtained from ANDMA, 15 families are reportedly affected by flood in Dur Baba district on 21 April. A joint assessment team consisting of IOM, WFP and district authorities conducted assessment on 23 April and found 16 families in need of humanitarian assistance. IOM distributed family module, blanket, tarpaulin and solar lanterns while WFP committed to cover food needs of the affected families. Laghman: As per the initial report obtained from ANDMA; 24 families were reportedly affected by flood in Mehterlam, Alishing, Alingar and Qarghai districts on 22 April. A joint assess- ment team consisting of IOM, WFP, ANDMA and ARCS conducted assessment in Mehterlam and Qarghai districts on 23 April. 26 families were found eligible for humanitari- an assistance. IOM distributed family module, blankets, family tents and tarpaulins to all verified families. WFP committed to cover food needs while ARCs will initiate assess- ment in the remaining districts and will share the outcome of the assessment with all partners. Kuner: As per the initial report obtained from ANDMA, five families were reportedly affected by flood in Nurgal and shigal districts. IMC conduct assessment in Nurgal district and found eight families in need of humanitarian assistance while the assessment in Shigal district is still pending due to security concerns. Parwan: As per the initial report obtained from ANDMA, around 65 families were reportedly affected by flood (40 families in Kohi Safi, 12 in Bagram, 13 families in Charikar districts) on 09 April. A joint assessment team consisting of IOM, ANDMA and DRR initiated assessment; 19 families were found eligible for humanitarian assistance. IOM distributed family modules, blanket, emergency shelter modules and three family tent to affected families whose house are completely destroyed while ANDMA covered food needs of the affected families. The fam- ilies have reportedly been displaced from Dangam bordering areas and currently residing in Dandam center, Asmar, Shegal and Asadabad districts. A joint assessment team consisting of PU-AMI, WFP, APA, DoRR initiated assessment and so far; 128 families found in Dangam and Asmar district in need of humanitarian assistance. PU-AMI distribut- ed cash assistance to 62 families while the assistance is on-going for the remaining families. The team has recommended family tents to nine families which will be referred to IOM once the assessment in concluded. ARCs also concluded the assessment in the remote area of Dangam districts, 243 families are found eligible for humanitarian assis- tance, ARCS will distribute relief assistance to these families. Nangrahar: OCHA received a petition from DoRR on 01 April indicating 92 families reportedly displaced from various districts (Chaprehar, Achin, Pachir Agam and Kunar-Dangam) due to Intimidation and threats by AGEs. The petition was screened and the assessment was initiated by IRC on 11 April, 17 families were found eligible for humanitarian assistance. In addition, OCHA has received petitions indicating 206 families displaced by conflict from various locations in the province. A petitions will be screened and a joint assessment team will be established to verify the needs. Laghman: 280 families were reportedly displaced by conflict from Alingar district to Mehtarlam, A joint assessment team led by DRC initiated assessment. 30 families were found eligible for humanitarian assistance, DRC will distribute cash for NFIs while food needs will be covered by WFP. In a separate incident, 210 families were reportedly displaced by conflict from multiple location in Laghman. The families are currently residing in Mehtarlam. Following the screening of the petition by DoRR and OCHA; a joint assessment team consisting of IOM, APA, WFP, DoRR and DRC has initiated assessment. IOM was requested to joint the assessment and cover the needs as the partners have no stocks at the moment. The team initiated the assessment but found inconsistency and duplication in the list thus the assessment is paused and OCHA and DoRR is task to re-verify the list and come up with the list of genuine newly displaced IDPs for assessment. Faryab: Reportedly 369 families were displaced by conflict from Khoja Sabz Posh, Pashtoon Kot, Dawlatabad, Qaisar, Asmar districts currently residing in Maimana city. All the families were assessed by SCI, WFP, ACTED and DACAAR, 173 families were found in need of humanitarian assistance. ACTED distributed multi purpose cash assistance, SCI distributed NFIs while WFP distributed food items to 127 families. The distribution of assistance to the remaining 46 families is pending. Main causes of consultations this week are Acute Respiratory Infections/ARI (26.9%) and Acute Diarrheal Diseases/ADD (4.7%) from total clients in a continuing trend from the week before. 73 deaths caused due to Pneumonia, Diarrheal diseases and Meningitis/Severely ill children, so that 59 deaths due to pneumonia, 2 deaths due to diarrheal diseases and 12 deaths reported due to Meningitis and Severely Ill Children. In this reporting week, five Measles outbreaks reported and investigated in Khost, Daikundi, Zabul, Kunar provinces. One mumps Outbreaks in Laghman province and One Pertussis outbreak reported and investigated in Hirat province. REPORTS RECEIVED FROM REPORTING SITES: As of March 9, 2012, 290 sentinel sites were functioning in eight epidemiological regions, in 34 provinces of Afghanistan . In this reporting week, all 289 sentinel sites have sent their reports on new cases of DEWS target diseases , recorded during the reporting. Out of all events recorded in DEWS sentinel sites, 15 target diseases (priority diseases) are included in DEWS weekly epidemiological reports. MIELKE & N. MISZAK SUMMARY So-called Islamic State (IS or Daesh) in Iraq and Syria is widely interpreted as a terrorist phenomenon. The proclamation in late January 2015 of a Wilayat Kho- rasan, which includes Afghanistan and Pakistan, as an IS branch is commonly interpreted as a manifestation of Daesh's global ambition to erect an Islamic caliphate. Its expansion implies hierarchical order, command structures and financial flows as well as a transnational mobility of fighters, arms and recruits between Syria and Iraq, on the one hand, and Afghanistan–Pakistan, on the other. In this Working Paper, we take a (new) social movement perspective to investigate the processes and underlying dynamics of Daesh’s emergence in different parts of the country. By employing social movement concepts, such as opportunity structures, coalition-building, resource mobilization and framing, we disentangle the different types of resource mobilization and long-term conflicts that have merged into the phenomenon of Daesh in Afghanistan. In dialogue with other approaches to terrorism studies as well as peace, civil war and security studies, our analysis focuses on relations and interactions among various actors in the Afghan-Pakistan region and their translocal networks. The insight builds on a ten-month fieldwork-based research project conducted in four regions—east, west, north-east and north Afghanistan—during 2016. We find that Daesh in Afghanistan is a context-specific phenomenon that manifests differently in the various regions across the country and is embedded in a long- term transformation of the religious, cultural and political landscape in the cross-border region of Afghanistan–Pakistan.

    Humanitarian Assistance Programme (HAP) Weekly Summary Report “On New Responses to Natural Disasters and Follow-up” Reporting Period: 7 February 2013 – 13 February 2013 Donor: OFDA/USAID Submission Date: 13 February 2013 Incidents Update: During the reporting period three natural disaster incidents were reported. Central Region: • Parwan Province: On the 3rd of February, ANDMA reported 44 families affected by heavy rainfall in four districts of Parwan province: Sayd Khel, Bagram, Chaharikar, Surkh Parsa. One person was injured and three persons caught in an avalanche did not survive the incident in Shekh Ali district, Dara Botyan village. Consequently, the joint assessment conducted by IOM, ANDMA, CARE, ARCS, and DoRR on the 6th of February identified 27 families for immediate assistance (nine houses destroyed, 18 houses severely damaged). IOM provided winter warm clothing and blankets to these 27 families, while CARE provided nine tents and ANDMA assisted with food items. A separate assessment carried out by ANDMA recommended additional 22 families for assistance. UNICEF committed to assist 22 families with NFIs and hygiene kits. • Logar Province: On the 5th of February, ANDMA and IRC reported heavy snowfall and harsh winter affecting around 15 families in Kharwar district. Six casualties, including those of two children were also reported. Families in other districts of the province were also severely affected. In response, IOM and IRC conducted an assessment in six districts: Baraki Barak, Kharwar, Khoshi, Pul-e-Alam, Mohammad Agha and center, on the 10th of February. 152 families were confirmed for an assistance (houses severely damaged). IOM will provide winter warm clothing to all families, while IRC will provide tarpaulins, in addition to 27 latrine kits and kitchen sets to female headed families.

    End of year report (2018) about Mujahideen progress and territory control: The Year of Collapse of Trump’s Strategy 2018 was a year that began with intense bombardments, military operations and propaganda by the American invaders but all praise belongs to Allah, it ended with the neutralization of another enemy strategy. The Mujahideen defended valiantly, used their chests as shields against enemy onslaughts and in the end due to divine assistance, the invaders were forced to review their war strategy. This report is based on precise data collected from concerned areas and verified by primary sources, leaving no room for suspicious or inaccurate information. In the year 2018, a total of 10638 attacks were carried out by Mujahideen against invaders and their hirelings from which 31 were martyr operations which resulted in the death of 249 US and other invading troops and injuries to 153 along with death toll of 22594 inflicted on Kabul administration troops, intelligence operatives, commandos, police and Arbakis with a further 14063 sustaining injuries. Among the fatalities 514 were enemy commanders killed and eliminated in various attacks across the country. During 2018 a total of 3613 vehicles including APCs, pickup trucks and other variants were destroyed along with 26 aircrafts including 8 UAVs, 17 helicopters of foreign and internal forces and 1 cargo plane shot down.     Strategic SSI - Afghanistan DAILY SITUATION REPORT 10 NOVEMBER 2010 SAFETY AND SECURITY ISSUES RELEVANT TO SSSI PERSONNEL AND CLIENTS STANDING THREAT ASSESSMENT (KABUL): Threat reports continue to indicate that insurgents aspire to conduct coordinated attacks in Kabul City, as such the threat remains extant. Recent threat reporting has also indicated likely reconnaissance of areas and businesses frequented by members of the international community. Although no significant attacks were carried out in Kabul during the recent parliamentary election, or indeed after the event, the recent reduction in physical security in the city may provide insurgents with exploitable opportunities to carry out attacks. Suicide and complex attacks remain the preferred choice for insurgents in order to gain maximum casualties figures and the associated high degree of media attention. It remains possible that insurgents will still seek to undermine the democratic process by conducting high profile attacks when the final results are announced. It remains prudent for international agencies in the Kabul area to maintain a high degree of security vigilance. Sporadic IDF attacks in the city centre are to be expected.
