Our 2015 Slovak Catholic Sokol Fraternalist of the Year, Dolly Hus- sar, a member of Assembly 180, was honored at a luncheon celebra- tion given in her honor on Sunday, October 25. The festivities, which began at 1 p.m., were held in the Gathering Room of Christ the Ser- vant Parish in Canton, Oh. About 60 guests were in attendance, in- cluding Dolly’s four children, fi ve grandchildren as well as brother and sister Sokols and Sokolky and friends. Serving as the mistress of ceremonies was Susan L. Blosser, newly elected Honorary Supreme Offi cer and daughter of the hon- oree. The opening prayer and grace before meals was offered by the Rev. Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano, pas- tor of Christ the Servant Parish. A toast was then offered by Dolly’s son, David Hussar. Scholarship Grants Available to Eligible Members in 2016 We are pleased to announce that the Slovak Catholic Sokol will make available a total of $63,000 in scholarship grants to eligible members in 2016. Previous recipients of Slovak Catholic Sokol scholarship grants may reap- ply for a 2016 grant; however, per Convention mandate - a student may receive a maximum of two (2) Slovak Catholic Sokol scholarship grant awards in each category.
