§ Definition of Soundness

Sound, by the definition of Bowie Livestock Sale Barn means:

• Moving free of a limp or abnormality of gait on all four legs as viewed by external examination. • Can see out of both eyes. • Does not crib (suck wind), does not weave, and is not proud cut.

Should a soundness issue be noticed within 72 hours of purchase the buyer is to contact Bowie Livestock immediately, you will be asked to send in pictures, a video, and documentation from your Veterinarian. The horse purchased is to be brought to a licensed Veterinarian for an exam. The final decision is to be made by the horse sale manager and all decisions are final.

§ Purchase Agreement

Buyer is responsible for inspecting their horse for any undisclosed imperfections before leaving the premises. If an issue is noticed the buyer is responsible for bringing it to the attention of the horse sale manager.

All horses sold through the catalog are subject to the 72-hour catalog guarantee unless otherwise stated by the seller as disclosed in the statement at the top.

All horses purchased through non-catalog sale are sold as-is with no exceptions, unless announced in the auction ring to the auctioneer. All guarantees for non-catalog horses are strictly between the buyer and the seller.

Buyers who will be traveling out of state with any horses purchased through the sale must obtain an Equine Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (Health Certificate) before crossing state lines.

All equine, bovine, porcine, caprine, ovine, or cervidae from a vesicular stomatitis affected state must have a certificate of veterinary inspection issued within 14 days of the date of entry into Texas. 4. Entry Requirements for Equine: 1. Certificate of veterinary inspection within 30 days prior to entry. 2. Proof of a negative EIA test within the previous 12 months prior to entry.

We purchased him for our daughter from the breeder as a weanling and he has been in our care with the exception of professional training ever since. We have used him like a family ranch horse and he has taken it all in stride with a willingness and an ability to retain what he has learned. This guy has been hauled to playdays, cleared arenas, hazed pony broncs for the pickup man, flagged rodeos, packed our kids on trails, penned cows with dogs on them, helped sort in the pens, and turned back in the cutting pen. He’s pretty catty for a draft breed. One of our daughters practices tying the goat dummy from him and we have started roping the breakaway sled on him. I have even used him on a search and rescue mission that took us through and in abandoned structures, down highways and through residential neighborhoods. Our 4 year old son loves to brush him and lead him through obstacles like a toy pony. He stands for and loves bathing and grooming, great for the farrier, loads and hauls great alone or with other horses. Angus has always lived outside with a mix of mares and geldings. Our daughters intentions of showing him have changed. He needs a new home that will enjoy him as much as we have and where he can be used to his full potential. He is not high strung or hyperactive but not a dead head either. We would recommend a rider with experience. He’s broke like they should be and can be catty. He’s been used at the ranch doing all the ranch chores, knows his way around cattle and gets the job done. Not a rope horse but is cowy. He has done all the cowboy obstacles and could be a competitive obstacle horse. Not for a complete beginning but most will get along with him. He is sound all day, every day.

3. One good quality full body picture. Photos must be submitted in flat JPG or PNG format. The file extension must be .JPG or .PNG. Best quality photos are at least 1,000 pixels wide (or tall) and a minimum of 70 DPI. If photo is not up to standards they will be rejected.

4. One good quality video, at least 1 minute long. The video will need to be edited without sound and must be in a shareable YouTube link. Do NOT send your videos to us via Facebook we cannot download them from there. Videos will not be accepted the day of the sale.

5. Commission is 10%.

SELLERS ALL PAPERWORK MUST BE COMPLETE AND PRESENTED TO THE SALE OFFICE. All original registration papers, signed transfers, breeder’s certificates, current coggins test and health papers (if applicable) must be in the sale office prior to your horse entering the sale arena. If paperwork is not complete, the horse will not be sold and appropriate fees will be charged to the consigner. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACCURACY OF YOUR HORSES CATALOG ENTRY. PLEASE VERIFY sire, dam and any and all information pertaining to your horse. Report any errors to the sale office or auction block prior to the time of sale of your horse to ensure proper announcements are made. Hip numbers and stall assignments are assigned by the sale company and cannot be changed by the consigner. Do not remove hip numbers from horses once they have been applied. All horses offered for sale must have a current (6 months old or less) negative coggins test. Any horse offered for sale that has traveled from a state other than Texas must also have a health paper dated no more than 10 days prior to the sale.
