[Business Incubation Project] In July, NTV established a business incubation committee chaired by President Noritada Hosokawa with the purpose of expanding non-advertising revenue, creating new businesses and reinforcing employees and Group companies to be more business-minded. In response to the call for business proposals, the committee received a total of 750 entries from NTV and its Group companies. Upon closely evaluating the content of all entries, the committee chose three “business trial proposals” that would be possible to begin immediately, and is moving forward with these businesses/services.

① NTV GuruChike (NTV Group Ticket) The NTV Group, like various companies in , will enter the burgeoning field of flash marketing by offering a localized service. We will generate original ideas for projects and services by coordinating with TV programs, which only a TV station is able to accomplish successfully.

② NTV Social Game As the fee-based, pay-per-game market rapidly grows, we will link TV and social games. We will create and develop unprecedented NTV games by utilizing our content capability and promotional prowess to earn revenue. One of our targets is to attract mobile phone users to our TV programs via these games while simultaneously increasing our viewer ratings.

③ NTV Apps While one out of two mobile phones is expected to be a smartphone, NTV will leverage its creativity to enter the applications business. Plans are to launch “NTV applications” with portal functions that can be produced and sold by the NTV Group in order to secure revenue. We plan to accept entries from within the company as well as from outside without being tied solely to linking TV/programming content in order to create and sell appealing applications. We will consider proceeding assertively regarding setting up a recommended site business that coordinates with TV programs.
